To object to my money being spent this way

A neighbour of mine has started a small ironing business. I give her an order every fortnight or so costing approx £20 a time. Every single night there are takeaways being sent to her house, she lives with her 4 children. To be honest I am really annoyed at the fact that I am out working 45+ hours per week and she is spending my money on takeaways every night. I would not object if she was actually spending the money on her children but WIBU to stop giving her orders seeing as she is just wasting everyones money.

Oh pleeeeeeeeeeeeease! Once you've paid her for the service how on earth is it YOUR money?
Mind your business - damn, I hate curtain twitchers.

PinkPepper · 24/10/2012 20:31

BigusBumus · 24/10/2012 20:32

Yawn zzzzzzzzz

Fakebook · 24/10/2012 20:33

Why don't you offer to pay for her groceries then?

MrsMiniversCharlady · 24/10/2012 20:33

You're bonkers. I assume you'd think it was fair enough for your boss to sack you if they found out you'd been spending it on wine??!

Iggly · 24/10/2012 20:33

YABU

It's not your money anymore.

Get over it.

Moominsarescary · 24/10/2012 20:33

Is this a joke?

shesariver · 24/10/2012 20:33

Pathetic. Its not your money anymore the minute you pay her for a service which, its hers, and she can spend it any way she chooses. [hhmm]

Hulababy · 24/10/2012 20:33

So do you spend all your money on sensible stuff with no treats ever???

Surely people have got better things to do? like their ironing [hgrin]

Shakey1500 · 24/10/2012 20:33

Can only echo the hilarity that it is somehow "your" money Grin

SecretNutellaFix · 24/10/2012 20:33

You aren't "giving her money"

You are paying her for a service she provides.

She does your ironing, you pay her for the service. Once you have done so, that money ceases to belong to you. She has earned it, just as you earn your pay. What if the CEO of your company decided he didn't like what you were spending the money they "give" you and stopped employing you?

I almost hope that this isn't for real, because if it is I truly pity you.

Alisvolatpropiis · 24/10/2012 20:34

Bahahahahahaha!

You're paying for a service. She provides the service. It's her money and none of your business what she does with it. Obviously

RedZombie · 24/10/2012 20:34

Does your boss tell you what to spend your money on?
Wind your neck in.

littlemisssarcastic · 24/10/2012 20:34

This has got to be a wind up!! Grin

Or a reverse AIBU?

Camelsshouldnteatcrisps · 24/10/2012 20:34

How do you know she is not working her socks up to build up a business and so has no time to cook because she doesn't want to turn customers away??

BadgersBottom · 24/10/2012 20:34

Wind up/Reverse AIBU/Complete bollocks - delete as applicable.

WildWorld2004 · 24/10/2012 20:35

How do you know its actually the money you give her that goes on the takeaway?

Maybe its her wages/benefits/child maintenance or whatever.
