That is all, really.

And before the trollhunting starts, I'm old enough to remember the brown pouffe, the unicorn sex, the spider fairy etc etc Grin

Why? I have 1 kid at private and 1 at state school (their choices) and many of the issues are the same.

TheGoldenKnid · 23/09/2012 16:25

Will there be an entry exam to allow access to this topic?

meditrina · 23/09/2012 16:25

So "old enough" to remember when this idea was raised and rejected before?

Rejected IIRC because there is no tidy divide between the sectors an the issues that people want to talk about may occur in any school regardless of its underlying management and funding.

IslaValargeone · 23/09/2012 16:26

Is this because you feel it would be more supportive?

Why?

So all the haterz can vent.

WorraLiberty · 23/09/2012 16:38

Will there be an entry exam to allow access to this topic? Grin Grin

Will you pay for extra tuition so that you can pass the entry exam, Worra? Hmm

HissyByName · 23/09/2012 16:42

Cos the rest of us is plebs, innit?

[Hmm]

WorraLiberty · 23/09/2012 16:43

Of course Golden, I'm saving up my Morrison's vouchers Grin

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 23/09/2012 16:44

Good idea, I have lots to say about private education so this would be a handy shortcut Grin

TheGoldenKnid · 23/09/2012 16:44

Well that's just not right, Worra. Angry I don't think you're allowed in anyway if you shop at Morrisons. In fact, I'd ban you from Mumsnet for that.

ScatterChasse · 23/09/2012 16:53

I suppose it would save time if you were helpful on a particular school/area as any threads about it would be in one topic rather than spread over primary/secondary and education topics.

But it wouldn't be very useful if you were talking about a number of schools or a problem that could occur at either (but perhaps that could go in primary/secondary?).

Perhaps you just have to make sure you put 'private school' somewhere prominent in your thread title.

MrSunshine · 23/09/2012 16:54

Lobby them in site stuff, where you might actually get an answer.

WorraLiberty · 23/09/2012 16:55

Does MN really need another bloody topic?

What's wrong with just starting a thread about private education in the education topic?

EdgarAllanPond · 23/09/2012 16:57

or in AIBU, if you are looking for a fight :)

AnOldieButNotSoGoody · 23/09/2012 16:58

A private school section would be a bad idea.

The anti brigade would be all over it.

TheGoldenKnid · 23/09/2012 16:59

I can see you, Worra! They obviously didn't teach you how to hide well at school.

puds11 · 23/09/2012 16:59

The ant brigade?

AnOldieButNotSoGoody · 23/09/2012 17:01

Erm no.

The anti I said. Smile

LineRunner · 23/09/2012 17:02

Will it be selective?

Boom tish.

BonnyDay · 23/09/2012 17:02

yes its emoticons can be like Boaters and geeks with briefcases Wink

ExitPursuedByABear · 23/09/2012 17:05

How much will entry cost?

But seriously, why OP? What benefit would it be?
