Alcohol at DC's daytime birthday party?

Not a piss up - just a few sociable drinks (will provide beer/wine and know some friends plan to bring a bottle anyway!)

  1. Flat out no
  1. Yes a couple didn't do anyone any harm
  1. An absolute must Wink (for parents Grin and friends without kids who probably would rather not be there!)

Sparklingbrook I know ... maybe I shall wait until everyone has had enough of their day and I'll get more favourable votes around Wineo'clock today Grin

Not that I'm trying to sway the outcome at all! Wink

2 or 3. In countries where alcohol isn't demonised/glamourised they don't seem to have such problems with it Smile

TunaPastaBake · 07/09/2012 10:19

3 Smile

I know it's a straw poll, but it would be interesting to hear why anyone would pick number 1?

NurseBernard · 07/09/2012 10:20

3, surely??

BarredfromhavingStella · 07/09/2012 10:21

TunaPastaBake · 07/09/2012 10:23

Could we start a different thread for debating it ? Quite like these quick polls Grin

BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 07/09/2012 10:24

How old are children?

I wouldn't for my ds1 (5)
But I've had a birthday tea for my brother at my house when he was 14, and we had a few drinks then

  1. some driving some not.
cory · 07/09/2012 10:26

I'd probably be the opposite of Boys; wouldn't mind a few adults drinking wine sensibly at a 5yo's party, but would not want to police a bunch of 14yos around the booze.

SecretSparkle · 07/09/2012 10:26

2 or 3

Having been 'the adult without child' at more than one kiddies birthday party I'd say alcohol helps ease the cogs slightly, not a full on piss up but I hate going to parties only to be offered a choice between sugar free ribena or apple juice!! Its nice to be offered a glass of wine.

UptoapointLordCopper · 07/09/2012 10:27
  1. And I usually do food for the parents too.
BoysBoysBoysAndMe · 07/09/2012 10:28

That came across wrong-was a birthday tea for brother with family and family friends-not his friends iyswim
