To think that FB local sales pages could get aggressive?

I saw an advert for something for £40 this morning and was negotiating a deal with the seller. We agreed on a price and I went and picked it up. All pretty obvious for all to see!

When I got home I saw a message from someone else saying

"I'll gi ye 40£ 4 ths. Dnt take ne less from this cheeky bitch lol. Can pick up now. Sum ppl just want to rip others off xxxx"

AIBU to think this is a little over aggressive?

And I'll add another one if I may...

AIBU to wish to fuck people would STOP using such ridiculous text talk?

YANBU

There was a big bitch up on our local one this week over some Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine DVDs. It got quite heated

EnglishGirlApproximately · 06/09/2012 17:52

It really kicked off on my local page last week when someone was trying to sell her Healthy Start vouchers Confused There were people calling her all sorts and she was getting really defensive and started threatening people.

I live in a lovely area Grin

JumpingThroughMoreHoops · 06/09/2012 17:55

I had to leave our local groups for the sake of my own sanity. They put my blood pressure through the roof.

You're going to slate me and I don't care - a serious seller of clothing who insisted modelling her own stuff. If you bleach your hair to the point of it falling out, have Croydon Facelift, spray yourself orange, and insist in cramming your rather buxom body into clothes 3 sizes to small, and 6 inches too short in dubious poses - it wasn't pretty. At least I think she was selling clothes Hmm

Mrsjay · 06/09/2012 18:12

I saw a cracker the other day friend selling in her area sold the item and she got abuse for selling to the person , with such lovliness as I was fucking needing that more than her thanks for nothing, and you never even gave anybody else a chance sell to your buddies eh sigh

I also see pets being bought and sold through these groups and I find it sad that dogs cats and pigs Shock go back and forth

Mrsjay · 06/09/2012 18:14

Shock don't the vouchers have names on them the old milk tokens used too ?

she must have been saving them up because dd says they are worth £3.10 a voucher she works in a supermarket

EnglishGirlApproximately · 06/09/2012 18:23

Yep. People were telling her it was illegal and they're for food for kids but she said that she could let whoever bought them know the name of a corner shop that takes them for anything!

It got very heated.

Mrsjay · 06/09/2012 18:28

That is grim English Sad when I had dd1 we got milk tokens as we were on benefit at the time i would buy milk but there was a shop where you could buy fags or booze with them

WoodlandHills · 06/09/2012 18:31

Am Shock at the person selling HS vouchers :(

Although where I used to live the local shop used to accept them for fags.

MammaTJisWearingGold · 06/09/2012 18:34

What are Healthy Start vouchers?

Mrsjay · 06/09/2012 18:35

I know my dd work is really strict as people chance their arm with them

Mrsjay · 06/09/2012 18:36

What are Healthy Start vouchers?

weekly vouchers for under 5s I think people on low income and benefits get them they are worth £3 odds a week they replaced the old milk tokens I think you can get milk fruit andveg with them

crackcrackcrak · 06/09/2012 18:43

I was wondering when this would reach mn.....
My friends use our local page but we do call it 'baby scab chav and sell anything'.........and regularly text each other with the amusing listings Grin

Naysa · 06/09/2012 18:43

Going to have a nose on my local ones. I didn't even know they existed tbh...

Mrsjay · 06/09/2012 18:48

I havnt used them I do see other posting though a woman I know through a friend was selling a kouni kouni pig they are supposed to be micro pigs but they can grow really huge I did Grin at the thought of somebody buying a cute little piggy then it growing into a monster

kinkynagbag · 06/09/2012 18:50

i use them they can be very handy picking up a bargan. and easy to sell on.

Schrodingershamster · 06/09/2012 18:53

Niiice. From mine Canvas. "Woordrob 5pound"

CaptainHetty · 06/09/2012 18:54

Ours is like this. It's full of 'I asked first' and 'oh I'll give you 50p more and collect in the next 10 minutes'. The fight over a trampoline once was quite something to behold!

Oh please more

Moominsarescary · 06/09/2012 19:04

I bought a wii once, I've never seen any fighting though

LackingNameChangeInspiration · 06/09/2012 19:04

ooo OP it sounds very netmumsy Grin

I love the netmums boards, love how its an instant bunfight if someone didn't say "thanks in advance" at the end Grin

and the name and shames Grin:

  • waited for 90 hours for X to come and pick up my item, couldn't feed my children or change their bums because I was waiting at the door, some people are so inconsiderate
  • I tried to collect but you didn't reply to my message with your address or telephone number
LOL love it!
WorraLiberty · 06/09/2012 19:15

How do you find your local FB sales page?

I put my Borough in the search thinking it would come up, but it didn't?

SamuelWestsMistress · 06/09/2012 21:30

Put your town name and "for sale" or something similar and it should come up.
