Are being Wankers?
Friends oh has a 13 yr old son, with learning difficulties.
Just seen that they have put a pic on fb of the child having a tantrum, to shame him into changing his behaviour.
Now correct me if I'm wrong but a child with autism having a 3 hr crying fit over something really doesn't need someone doing that.

yanbu that is wankerish behaviour... i wouldnt call it a tantrum tho, usually referred to as a meltdown?

WorraLiberty · 15/08/2012 15:12

YANBU that's absolutely disgusting.

wankpants · 15/08/2012 15:13

YANBU, how awful

JennerOSity · 15/08/2012 15:14

Good grief - punishment by humiliation! And possibly not something he will understand anyway. that is a rather odd choice of tactic to say the least. Poor lad. :(

Once it is on the 'net it is public property - they don't know what 'friend of a friend' might take the pic and do something mean with it. awww poor boy.

bubalou · 15/08/2012 15:14

I don't know what to make of it really?

Sounds very odd and not very nice Confused

Zondra · 15/08/2012 15:15

I'm appalled! Horrible people!

Poor, poor boy. :(

advisemewisely · 15/08/2012 15:16

Ok, so not just me? Just seems like bullying.

Also seems like they really don't understand autism at all.

That's awful. In fact, that has made me really really angry. My children both have autism. It's hard yes, but it's a disability. They aren't deciding oh, I know what I'll do, I'll have a meltdown. That'll be jolly good fun Hmm

There is no difference between what they have done and tipping your child out of their wheelchair and putting a video of them on the floor onto facebook, to shame them into walking.

They are stupid. And nasty.

bobbledunk · 15/08/2012 15:22

That's abusive, report the photo to facebook, they do remove degrading images, especially of children. Ring your 'friend' up and ask her why she would do such a vile thing to a child and since she's advertising her nastiness tell her everybody's judging her on it. Tbh, I'd never speak to the bitch again and I would make very clear why. What a pair of cunts.

dondon33 · 15/08/2012 15:24

YANBU that's shite and totally unfair to the child.

DozyDuck · 15/08/2012 15:26

Are you actually fucking serious????

She needs to get some compassion.

TheDreadedFoosa · 15/08/2012 15:27

Thats awful!

Was it the father or your friend who posted it?

advisemewisely · 15/08/2012 15:29

I have messaged her, and the dad and reported the photo.

OP posts:
DozyDuck · 15/08/2012 15:34

Just seen its her oh that has the child not her. Can you tell child's mother?

Flobbadobs · 15/08/2012 15:48

Jesus thats awful, what if some of his classmates manage to get hold of it? Bullying at its worst.

TeWiDoesTheHulaInHawaii · 15/08/2012 15:52

Do you know which school the child goes to? I would let them know as well.

AhCmonSeriouslyNow · 15/08/2012 15:52

YABU, public humiliation is not ok for anyone and even less so for a child with learning difficulties. Also, seems to me like it's unlikely to have the effect of teaching the child anything (though I don't know very much about autism).

In fact, I was a bit perturbed by a very short video of a toddler I know being put on FB recently where the toddler was being a bit cross and the person videoing was kind of goading him...it was put up by the grandad and was removed, I assume at the mother's request, soon after!

puds11 · 15/08/2012 15:53

Fucking facebook!

JennerOSity · 15/08/2012 16:12

goading a toddler... and grandad putting it on fb! How shit are some people! I am stunned. Shock

JennerOSity · 15/08/2012 16:12

p.s OP - good for you -I am glad you felt you could intervene. Hope it makes them think twice and you don't get any hassle from it. :)

advisemewisely · 15/08/2012 18:18

Well photo is still up. And I've had no reply from them.

OP posts:
AmberLeaf · 15/08/2012 18:23

Do you know the boys mum? Can you find her on facebook?

I'd be fucking livid if this was done to my son. What a shit shit thing to do.
