Men without tops

I don't care how hot it is, I don't want to be confronted with a sunburnt, perspiring back in the checkout queue at the supermarket. Put a shirt on!

(Old prude obviously...)

LaurieFairyCake, that is AWFUL! Shock Put some proper clothes on people FFS - that actually fit and cover you maybe Hmm

Spryte · 10/08/2012 18:31

Imagine the uproar if this was a predominantly male forum slagging off women's bodies...

Spryte I included women in the equation. Either sex doing this is not nice.

LaurieFairyCake · 10/08/2012 18:34

We're not slagging off 'men's' bodies, we're slagging off inappropriate clothing worn by strangers causing us to come in close proximity to the parts of their bodies that are normally covered.

I only want to bump into one mans hairy nipples, I don't want a man to brush his sweaty nipples across my face in the supermarket because I happen to be short Angry

FFS Spryte. 'Slagging off men's bodies.' Gimme a break.

Interestingly it's not a look you tend to see in countries that are much, much hotter than the UK.

Is it because they are fat? Or male? Or sweating? Or intimidating? Or is the sheer audacity that they took their clothes off in public??!! I wish I was a man so I could take my top off in this heat, and guess what? (whispers) even if I was fat I would still do it

laudinum · 10/08/2012 18:40

Oh God, Laurie. Shock

usualsuspect · 10/08/2012 18:42

Doesn't bother me in the slightest TBH.

I think slagging off anyone who is fat is not on.

FateLovesTheFearless · 10/08/2012 18:42

I really don't care.

LaurieFairyCake · 10/08/2012 18:46

I'm fat and I don't take my top off in public.

It is not that they are fat, it is that they are fat/sweaty/hairy and IN my personal space.

It is intrusive, it is not polite. They are a stranger to me and I don't want to be touched by a strangers sweaty/mooby chest.

I don't want to see their cock either - but that's a side issue to this thread Grin

Handmer · 10/08/2012 18:47

I went to visit someone I was dating and went to meet their parents. Their dad greeted me without a shirt and ate dinner without a shirt. It was not a pretty sight, and as you can imagine, quite off-putting.

Latara · 10/08/2012 18:48

Laurie - i would be saying ''excuse me did you know that you are exposing yourself?? You should cover up NOW or someone will think it's not accidental & call the police.''

If he refuses / swears etc then get security. Definitely yuck!!

usualsuspect · 10/08/2012 18:49

I'd love to be able to fling my top off when I'm having a hot flush.

Latara · 10/08/2012 18:50

I'm a bit fat & i cover up the fat bits.
Everyone has a choice to cover up or not - but personally i prefer to cover up; while i try to loose weight & get fit.

Spryte · 10/08/2012 18:50

Why would a shirtless man be more inclined to invade your personal space than a shirted one? I have never had this problem, shirted or otherwise.

Latara · 10/08/2012 18:51

Sorry 'lose' not 'loose' weight (i think).

RuleBritannia · 10/08/2012 18:52

Something opposite but not sweaty males until afterwards. I'm sure you all noticed that women runners in the Olympic Games wore crop tops and tiny pants while the men wore vest type shirts tucked into proper shorts or long enough to hang below their waists? Yes, they were sweaty afterwards but I did wonder why the men wore so much more than the women.

SparklingGoldMedals · 10/08/2012 18:52

Slim, fat whatever I don't want to see it. I don't understand why they have to take their tops off. Why is it necessary?

usualsuspect · 10/08/2012 18:54

Because they are hot and they can. Why are people so offended by a mans chest?

Spryte · 10/08/2012 18:54

It's just more comfortable in the heat, and they might want to get a tan?

NCForNow · 10/08/2012 18:55

Can I ask how people feel about vest tops worn by women andd girls serving in a cafe?

I was at a beach today and the little cafe served drinks and hot and cold food as well as snacks.

It was busy and there were 4 girls and women behind the counter and waiting on..they all had their armpits flying free in vest tops...lot's of cleavage and plump arms....it put me right off tbh. Sweaty pits dripping near the salads.

NCForNow · 10/08/2012 18:55

I'm not saying they should be buttoned to the neck but surely a t shirt with a short sleeve is not much different to a vest? And it catches sweat.

Spryte · 10/08/2012 18:56

I remember being on a beach abroad when I was younger (I grew up abroad) and a man in front of us took off his swimming trunks and bent over to dry his legs, you can imagine the view - now that is where I draw the line.
