To think the Olympic ticket website is pants!?

They display events as available and then when you click on them they don't exist.

When tickets are finally added you spend 5 minutes a time on a "requesting tickets screen" whilst they check if they are available. Then get a "not available screen" even though they are still showing availability.

Why oh why is this website so pathetic? Ticketmaster manage to cope with whole tours selling out in minutes...

same problems.. really annoying but keep trying in the hope i'll get lucky!

OutragedAtThePriceOfFreddos · 31/07/2012 00:00

YANBU.

I found it hard to find what I was looking for and I don't understand why the home screen doesn't have a great big link directly to the tickets they say they are releasing each day. It seems to find out what tickets they are releasing you have to check every flaming option.

Unless I'm missing something and someone knows the thing that could put me out of my misery.

Southwest · 31/07/2012 00:05

Oh it's terrible awful search facility, keeps showing tickets as available which aren't, can only book 4 or fewer now.

I have no idea when tickets are being released the day before and how much they will be et etc

Even tried calling them and they were shut no opening hours I could find on website,

I could go on

GlassofRose · 31/07/2012 00:07

"No Tickets found" Im getting fucked off now. Why say the maximum is 4 if you don't have them.

This website isn't pants. It's shit Angry

TheSkiingGardener · 31/07/2012 00:10

It's complete crap. And its wasting a lot of my time. But ticketmaster are crap.

GlassofRose · 31/07/2012 00:12

At least with ticketmaster you get of view and choice of where you sit for most places... this is lucky dip. I'm convinced theres someone over at Stratford wearing a blindfold randomly pressing buttons on the other end of this website

Whatmeworry · 31/07/2012 00:33

I wonder if it is designed deliberately to be hard to use? Dunno why they would do that, but seems like real effort has gone into maing it so opaque.

GlassofRose · 31/07/2012 00:37

Possibly, but I can't think why.

I've been hunting athletics tickets since last night. The kept disappearing and then reappearing throughout today.

It would be so much easier if there were more search options IE. price range. It saves the hassle of thinking they are available and then realising only £500 ones are.

Noqontrol · 31/07/2012 00:53

Yeah, same here. V annoying.

bucksmum · 31/07/2012 00:56

Same here but I'll keep trying!

GlassofRose · 31/07/2012 01:04

well all the 50/65 tickets gone... no way am I paying 150 each Sad

OP posts:
StunningCunt · 31/07/2012 01:10

Am willing to pay £150, but it takes 15 minutes to find out they aren't available.

GlassofRose · 31/07/2012 01:15

I've spent two hours at it now... I tried for 50, 65 and 95. It's ridiculous

That site nearly destroyed my psyche yesterday. And today it nearly did for my husband. Tomorrow I think the laptops will end up smashed to smithereens. Enough I think, we are usually quite reasonable people.

bisjolympics · 31/07/2012 01:21

I've been at it since 9pm and still nothing. I've got to be up in 5 hours. If this latest go doesn't work I will give up.

GlassofRose · 31/07/2012 01:27

It's abysmal how they show as available and then are gone when you request. I missed them twice during the day today. Missed them last night... and tonight no luck.

My partner reckons that showing them as avail' is just a publicity stunt

OP posts:
pootlebug · 31/07/2012 01:28

Aaaaaarghhhh. I keep saying I'll stop and go to bed and then think 'oh just one more go'.

GlassofRose · 31/07/2012 01:29

"No tickets found" Soul destroying message. Why does it take so long to say so?!

OP posts:
StunningCunt · 31/07/2012 01:57

Sorry we are unable to continue with your purchase (Reference number: 0x0b010000) due to one of the following reasons:

If you are visiting us during high demand hours, the tickets you have requested may no longer be available. Please select an alternative price category or session.
If you are visiting us after midnight, we could be undergoing important daily maintenance that could take up to an hour. Please come back later.
GlassofRose · 31/07/2012 01:59

I've had that too stunning. They appear to be selling out price range by price range... just not to us.

I was born in Newham General wheres my queue jump pass?! Grin

OP posts:
StunningCunt · 31/07/2012 02:06

I checked the athletics and there are a few £95 seats (and £150 in the same session) , but otherwise it's £295 or £420 or £450.

pootlebug · 31/07/2012 07:00

I tried to get every price including the stupidly pricey ones just to see what happened. They showed as available, then when I got through the process said there were none left. Went back to the initial screen and still showing as available. And repeat....

TheSkiingGardener · 31/07/2012 07:06

That loops repeats for at least an hour. You would think they could remove them once sold after 10 minutes even.

Ticketmaster, very good at looking efficient, actually shit

littlecrocodile · 31/07/2012 09:00

The Olympic ticketing, including online, is operated by Ticketmaster so can't really be compared as being better or worse!

GlassofRose · 31/07/2012 09:39

Little croc -

That is why I was comparing them. Wondering how the fuck Ticketmaster manage to cope and sell efficiently (my opinion of using them clearly not everybodies) when this is so awful?!
