To think this isn't good enough for a 5* hotel

We have booked a super plush expensive hotel for tonight as a treat for my birthday. As I'm very pregnant with dc three this is likely to be our last break in a long time do we splashed out.

We booked a split level room that advertised having an enormous wooden tub. I've been looking forward to a bath that covers my bump all week

Anyway, we check in, come up to the room and I go to run the bath but theres no bath oil/foam. On ringing reception dh is told to put some shower gel in as they dont do bath stuff.

Now, it's obviously not the end of the world, but it's pissed me off. AIBU?

5* hotels should not only provide the bath oils/foam, but also be pouring it in for you while swirling with a wooden paddle.

Relax. Just enjoy yourself and don't stress about this sort of thing. Hope you have a great time. Shower gel will be fine.

Does the tub have jacuzzi jets, because I think you're not meant to put bath oil/bubble bath in those as it wrecks the jet thingies eventually.

YANBU - I'd be pissed off too in your position! It's not the end of the world but when you have an idea in mind and it doesn't happen, it's a PITA, especially when you're pregnant. And actually, at a 5* there bloody SHOULD be bath foam.

No jets just a tub. There is shower gel yes. I'm a moody cow then I am over it now but it seems such a silly thing to fall down on.

I thought you were going to say there wasn't a bath. Just put it on the customer satisfaction questionnaire and relax.

My usual bugbear is that those places ONLY give you bath foam, no shower gel. DH and I are now in the habit of taking a travel bottle of shower gel with us.

It's Bath Oil or foam. Yes it would have been a nice touch to have some complimentary stuff but as you haven't it's hardly the end of the world is it?

YANBU. I'm unlikely to stay in a five star hotel I wish but if i did I'd be expecting luxurious toiletries - isn't that part of the fun of staying in a swish hotel? Oh and I'd want big fluffy towels, cosy white bathrobe and slippers.

We're talking about a 5* hotel people not a fuckin travel lodge. If there's a bath there should be some kind of bath product to complement the experience.

YABU shower gel and bath foam are essentially the same thing anyway. Just enjoy the weekend!
