To laugh at the PA Facebook updates

PatheticTrumpet · 17/06/2012 21:23

From "friends" on my FP page I would dearly like to delete but feel drawn to keep them so I can laugh at their PA updates! Its the CPA ones that get my palms itching for a whitty response - have to reach for the wine so as not to blow my cover!

What's PA and CPA?

PatheticTrumpet · 17/06/2012 21:28

Passive Aggressive

Cryptic Passive Aggressive

Such as - "3 weeks today and we shall see ..."

Shiftinglard · 17/06/2012 21:30

Ah I see. I hate the enigmatic ones such as "dreading tomorrow" and when asked what's happening tomorrow they say "can't say on here, pm me".

MsKittyFane · 17/06/2012 21:32

I have a friend who does this.
"why aren't people more honest?"
"ouch"
"Do what you need to do..."
WHAT?!
It's annoying.

landofmakebelieve · 17/06/2012 21:33

Ooh, hate cryptic or passive aggressive FB statuses with a vengeance! Usually along the lines of "Wish a certain someone would stop being an arse - you know who you are."
Why not say to the person's face that you have a problem with them instead of attention seeking on FB?!
Oh and stupid updates like that leads to about 500 friends on FB instantly thinking you're talking about them, causing massive fall outs and repercussions.
Hide their newsfeeds, or delete the feckers for your own sanity! Grin

PatheticTrumpet · 17/06/2012 21:34

Or "man up you w@@ker"

"seriously? How funny!"

"I can't wait till all this changes"

OP posts:
kittyandthefontanelles · 17/06/2012 21:35

Such as - "3 weeks today and we shall see ...". What is aggressive about that?

landofmakebelieve · 17/06/2012 21:35

Grr, those "dreading tomorrow" statuses annoy me too! "Why what's the matter, hun, hope you're OK?"
"Can't say on here, sorry."
Well why fecking post it in the first place then, you attention seeking muppet?! Grin

PatheticTrumpet · 17/06/2012 21:36

"passive" aggressive - tis a difference I feel

Don't see how it is aggressive, passive or otherwise. Annoyingly cryptic definitely but not aggressive

Pinkshoes2 · 17/06/2012 21:40

Im not on facebook as i think its a load of you know what. And i also reckon i would get banned from ranting at irritating people like you are describing so thats why i stay clear. But i do find the threads on here about it funny!

Schnarkle · 17/06/2012 21:41

Had one on mine today. Worst thing ever happened today, OMG it was soo horrible I can't get the image out of my mind.

Her friend predictably replied, what happened? Reply: Don't want to say on here, OMG it was terrible.

I have a friend who does this ... n thy r n txt spk 2!

"Sad whn we usd 2 b frends" is one recent example.

deepfriedcupcake · 17/06/2012 21:41

Does it ever work to post something equally PA back?
"dreading tomorrow" ... "yeah, I would too mate"

MsKittyFane · 17/06/2012 21:49

kitty:Such as - "3 weeks today and we shall see ...". What is aggressive about that?
"We shall see..." is quite a passively aggressive/narky way of speaking. Expression on person's face whilst typing this is almost certainly a cat bum mouth.

kittyandthefontanelles · 17/06/2012 21:55

Oh ok. I just don't see it like that. I read the end of the sentence as "...if I'm pregnant" or "if my wine has worked" or "if I got the job".

StepOutOfSpring · 17/06/2012 21:57

YANBU

Can't stand updates like "X can't wait to see her real friends, you know who you are". It's a veiled insult to those who don't "know who they are" and have no clue why they're not one of the chosen few Confused

MsKittyFane · 17/06/2012 22:02

kitty I'm cynical! :o
"Three weeks today and we shall see...you'll get your payback... grrr"
Or something err... equally menacing :o :o

ShullBit · 17/06/2012 22:04

I also hate the ones which they "Can't say. Will text/PM you". What was the fecking point in posting about it then if you can't say?

Exactly why I deactivated my account weeks ago, and haven't missed it a jot.

EduStudent · 17/06/2012 22:04

My DM is terrible for this. I keep telling her it's stupid, but she 'likes to be mysterious' Hmm

Matesnotdates · 17/06/2012 22:04

How about:

'So unhappy today...'

Pure attention seeking.

vigglewiggle · 17/06/2012 22:05
kittyandthefontanelles · 17/06/2012 22:05

Ooh Blimey! Two kittys, two opinions, mo waiting. Or is that kitties...?

StepOutOfSpring · 17/06/2012 22:05

That's very funny deepfriedcupcake, good idea :o
