To laugh at the PA Facebook updates

From "friends" on my FP page I would dearly like to delete but feel drawn to keep them so I can laugh at their PA updates! Its the CPA ones that get my palms itching for a whitty response - have to reach for the wine so as not to blow my cover!

Oh God. I think I am guilty of the posting about the kids constantly. The shame. But I do it in a witty way. I think.

I bloody hate the moralising ones too hackmum. Today I am grateful because.....oh just fuck off.

DuelingFanjo · 19/06/2012 00:42

oooh facebookers like you, op, really annoy me. I never understand why people who dislike other people so much spend so much of their time stalking them. 'tis wierd.

There seem to be a lot of people who hate facebook yet spend a huge amount of time on there sneering at other people and refusing to take part themselves. What a strange waste of their time.

StuntGirl · 19/06/2012 01:16

I have a friend who does this at least twice a week. And makes frequent comments about hating PA cryptic FB statuses himself...aaargh!

Wish I had the guts to reply with "You obviously want us all to know so either spill or shut up!"

CheshireDing · 19/06/2012 04:01

YANBU

I don't understand why anybody encourages the "had a terrible day....." ones with a question. I don't mind if people write "had a terrible day, was really busy, need wine", it's just the mysterious ones I can't be bothered with

blonderthanred · 19/06/2012 06:49

Agree with Hackmum's list apart from the 'Miss you, Dad' ones, I always cringe at the 'best mummy in the world' ones on Mothers Day thinking of all those I know who've lost a parent on F/M day so seeing some genuine emotion makes me hope the trite ones will think about what they're posting.

Thistledew · 19/06/2012 06:59

I have one fb friend who does this.

Yesterday she posted about how she had stopped herself sending the "worst text ever".

So, no-one received the text, no-one apart from you will ever know what it said, you obviously made a sensible decision to refrain from creating some sort of RL drama by sending it, but now being deprived of your drama fix, you have to hint at it to your fb friends, just so we all are reminded how full of peril and emotional turmoil your life is. Confused

PatheticTrumpet · 19/06/2012 07:09

duellingfanjo - I just wanted to clarify that I dont stalk anyone on Facebook - their status updates automatically feed through to my news feed so impossible to avoid reading them iyswim?

So, no need to be annoyed by me really ;-)

Vaguebooking

GiserableMitt · 19/06/2012 07:20

:o at 'emotional incontinence' and Vaguebooking.

I shall have to try and drop those in to a status.

Maybe, "Annoyed by those with emotional incontinence. You know who you are."

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 19/06/2012 07:22

Christ on a bike not sure I've ever seen status updates like these. And I immediately delete anyone writing in txt spk.

Have hidden quite a few annoying people though and am currently guilty of whinging
a lot about my lack of sleep (looks sternly at DD) but then I think all my friends mean about their children rather than extols their virtues on Facebook.

Apart from one friend who stealth boasts constantly, eg "oh is it ok for my 6week old darling wonderfully baby to sleep 7-7? She's been doing it for a week!" fuck the fuckity fuck off

BadNails · 19/06/2012 07:28

I've just returned to fb after a long break.

I've got one of these today - "Can't believe what I've just seen".

Thanks for that. Attention seeking bullshit.

usualsuspect · 19/06/2012 07:38

If any of my fb friends wrote they were having a terrible day I would be concerned about them, not take the piss out of them on another website.

But then I only have people I like on my FB

manicbmc · 19/06/2012 09:26

I do that. If someone says they are having a bad day, I'll ask them what's up. It's when the reply is 'can't say here', that it gets on my wick. Why bother posting it at all?
