scentednappyhag · 14/06/2012 16:44

Wink
usualsuspect · 14/06/2012 16:46

I wouldn't use those words but if others want to thats fine

ElephantsCanRemember · 14/06/2012 16:46

A woman at the school gates said to my then 2week old DS "Hello sexy boy" urgh

NarkedRaspberry · 14/06/2012 16:47

You can call them Gerald the Mighty Destroyer offline, but on here please call them babies. Or we'll get tickers. And sparkles.

BasilDonna · 14/06/2012 16:47

NarkedRaspberry · 14/06/2012 16:47

hairytale · 14/06/2012 16:49

Yanbu. Yuck. Equally "hubby"

fullofregrets · 14/06/2012 16:53

I call DS little sausage pot.

HecateTrivia · 14/06/2012 16:59

I know what you mean Grin

I think it's the young 'uns that do the whole babba bubba preggo thing. I am an old gimmer not 'down with' the next generation's language and it all sounds a bit weird to me.

Oh god. I am of the 'older generation'. That's depressing.

AceOfBase · 14/06/2012 17:02

hecate I am one of those young'un's and those words make my teeth itch. Methinks its a cultural (or lack thereof) thing

Cockwomble · 14/06/2012 17:04

I find them handy when I can't remember the baby's name, much friendlier to say "how's the little man" rather than "how's the baby?"

JulesJules · 14/06/2012 17:07

YANBU

I hate just baby as well - as in "How is baby?"

NO. It's "How is THE baby?"

SauvignonBlanche · 14/06/2012 17:10

YANBU

Eggrules · 14/06/2012 17:10

I'll add in use of The Baby when the CHILD in question is 4 and half.

BumpingFuglies · 14/06/2012 17:11

Meh. My DS was little man, sausage, monkey and Og. Each to their own!

Find it odd though how one friend refers to her niece as "the baby", now 18 months old, never by her name!

sooperdooper · 14/06/2012 17:13

Not so bothered about bubs etc but it makes my skin crawl when people insist on calling little girls princesses - why???

Flisspaps · 14/06/2012 17:15

Along with hubs, hubby, hub, they make me livid. Fuck knows why.

keepthechangeyoufilthyanimal · 14/06/2012 17:15

yuk yuk yuk.
I have a friend who only ever seems to refer to her DD as little lady.
Never my daughter, baby, little girl.
Even little princess would be preferable now, just for a change!

fullofregrets · 14/06/2012 17:17

Hubby and preggers are awful.
Preggers is the worst.

Can I also add 'spesh' for special? It was in one of DS's picture books recently. I had to get rid of the book because it offended my eyes.

itdoesnthurttohavemanners · 14/06/2012 17:19

Agree 100%. Awful. Hate bubba especially with a passion. I'm 18 weeks pregnant and SICK of people asking how 'Bubba' is...eugh!

JodieHarshHasALumpyPennie · 14/06/2012 17:20

Well. I probably wouldn't.

But isn't this just sort of short-handed snobbery?

BarredfromhavingStella · 14/06/2012 17:23

Meh, I call ds little man & bubby boo so shoot me-he loves it & laughs away Hmm Used to call dd my little lady too & oh shit dh is even reffered to as hubby amongst other not so polite names Shock Me thinks you have pretty empty lives to be arsed about such a trivial thing........

somewherewest · 14/06/2012 17:24

I call DS little man sometimes and little fecker under my breath very very occasionally
