Poor Prince Phillip. He is going to miss the rest of the celebrations. Sad

LapisBlue · 04/06/2012 17:29

At least the DOE doesn't have to listen to Cliff Richard.

Sparklingbunting · 04/06/2012 17:30

he will be watching it all from his comfy bed, hope he enjoys the BBC coverage. Shock

slartybartfast · 04/06/2012 17:37

or perhaps it is exhaustion and bladder infection is a lie

poor philip.

slartybartfast · 04/06/2012 17:37

that's true, he will at least have a rest

Sparklingbunting · 04/06/2012 17:38

He is 91 on Sunday and he had to stand on that freezing boat for hours yesterday. Sad

nothingoldcanstay · 04/06/2012 17:45

Just got back from yesterday and TBH the whole thing was a bit flat. The boats came in dribs and drabs rather than a whole push so in fact it didn't look much different from the Thames as it usually looked. By the time the barges came on most people had left Westminster Bridge (lashing it down).

There was no music or commentary set up so was impossible to really tell what was happening unless you had memorised it from the paper that morning. And the Sunday Times appeared to have the where to stand bit wrong as well. Ho Hum how we laughed at the whole Britishness of it..

BalloonSlayer · 04/06/2012 18:04

I nearly started a thread yesterday,

AIBU to be fuming that my grandparents, 86 and 90, had to stand for two hours whilst travelling yesterday in the cold and pissing rain? They don't like to complain, Spirit of the Blitz and all that, but the people inflicting this on them had the nerve to say it was to show them how much they love them!

Greatauntirene · 04/06/2012 18:28

I stopped watching countryfile when Miriam O'Reilly was bumped out of it for a cutesy blonde who knew f all about the countryside .
Glad to see that boring uninspiring twerp getting flack Grin

Sparklingbunting · 04/06/2012 18:29

BBC1 now. One Show Diamond Jubilee Special. Shock

Sparklingbunting · 04/06/2012 18:30

Cliff Richard on a bus. Sad

sensuallettuce · 04/06/2012 18:31

Apparently Fearne Cotton is presenting again tonight :(

nothingoldcanstay · 04/06/2012 18:34

And another thing...

I didn't mind waving at a barge or two or even a rower I was a bit Hmm at waving in the rain to a number of jolly family and friends on their floating gin palaces. What was the point of the pleasure boat bit?
It's lovely to have a boat and everyone on them looked like they were having a great time but I don't think they needed to be clapped and waved at really for owning an expensive bit of kit.

LapisBlue · 04/06/2012 18:34

Cliff Richard. Puke. And the self-regarding Paul McCartney.

And God, Matt Baker's back on BBC 1.

Sparklingbunting · 04/06/2012 18:35

Gazza Barlow too. I don't know what I think of him really.

sensuallettuce · 04/06/2012 18:37

Like Alex Jones' jacket though Grin

I think Gary Barlow thinks he's more talented than he actually is.

The One Show is taking me back to yesterday's Pageant coverage a bit. When's Cliff Richard on...? Yaaaaay Wine

Sparklingbunting · 04/06/2012 18:47

I will be looking out for Gareth Malone. He's my favourite. Smile

sensuallettuce · 04/06/2012 18:48

Some woman has just boasted to having a ring "just like Kate Middletons".

I'd be keeping that quiet. Hmm

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 04/06/2012 18:49

I used to like Gary Barlow until he became so smug and Tory.

LapisBlue · 04/06/2012 18:50

Love Gareth Malone. No, really. I luuuuurve him.

Sparklingbunting · 04/06/2012 18:51

Not as much as I do Lapis. Grin Unless you are Mrs Malone (who is a Mnetter)

LapisBlue · 04/06/2012 18:53

I saw him first. OK, I didn't...Mrs Malone saw him first (OK, I know she wasn't Mrs Malone then). Right shut up now, LapisBlue.

Sparklingbunting · 04/06/2012 18:56

I would definitely be up for him doing a 'Mumsnet Choir' Lapis. Grin He could teach me to sing if he liked. Wink
