To want people to stop moaning about the weather

lovesthesun · 27/05/2012 00:41

It only happens a few times of year that we have sunny weather. So enjoy it or get in the shade!

OP posts:
ToxicMoxie · 27/05/2012 00:49

Yes, its totally unreasonable as all I ever hear normally is how horrible and damp things are in the UK. If it's not horrible and damp, be happy! your clothes will dry today without mould! yay!

Tranquilidade · 27/05/2012 00:55

Sorry but we are in Britain, complaining is what we do best!

UdderlyBanal · 27/05/2012 01:07

I don't like it at 26+. I will moan, thank you. Sun good, heat bad, as a fellow redhead wisely told me this week!

giraffesCantFitInThePalace · 27/05/2012 01:22

I love it, bounded out of bed all week

hecatetrivia · 27/05/2012 08:54

No. I won't. Grin

I have to listen to people moaning about the cold weather, when I am actually totally happy with it. I don't like really hot weather.

I don't see people saying oh, stop moaning about the chilly weather! You assume that the correct and proper position is that hot = good.

This is incorrect. There are those of us who hate the hot and love the cold.

We should be allowed to express that.

AAARRRGGGGHHH It's too bloody hot, I hate it!

So there.

Grin
Flisspaps · 27/05/2012 08:58

I have a ginger-haired, pale skinned husband and two small children.

All 3 are malfunctioning in this heat.

A nice warm sunny day would be great, it doesn't have to be another bloody scorcher or freezing.

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 27/05/2012 09:01

People moan about it being too hot/cold/wet/snowy/foggy/whatever. Some people like it hot, some don't. Some like it cold, some don't. It's just the way of the world.

Sirzy · 27/05/2012 09:07

The ones that make me laugh are the ones who complain whatever the weather is doing. In January it's to cold, march is to wet, may is to hot, December is to snowy and on and on.

my2centsis · 27/05/2012 09:30

Out if curiosity how hot is it? I have been seeig everyone Talking about te weather all over these threads and I live in NZ :)

hellhasnofurylikeahungrywoman · 27/05/2012 09:31

It was 28 degrees here yesterday.

Snowboarder · 27/05/2012 09:46

I normally love the summer and the heat BUT this year... I am 30 week pregnant and suffering terribly with edema, my legs are like overstuffed sausages. Added to that I can't sleep on a night... Too bloody hot and stuffy!

Added to that I have a 14 mo toddler to chase around after, who incidentally is also malfunctioning in the heat. It has been 27 degrees in his room at night so no wonder really.

Normally I'd be with you OP but at the moment I would give anything for a rain shower and a cold beer

Codandchops · 27/05/2012 09:47

But we is British innit? Moaning is in our genes Grin

Have to say I am LOVING the weather after all that rain. I do feel for those who are pregnant or working in the heat though.

piratecat · 27/05/2012 09:48

yanbu, it's bloody gone now here in the south west.

People pay 1000's for hoildays in the sun then moan when we get 4 days for free.

BellaVita · 27/05/2012 09:48

I love this weather. Am sat in the garden already Grin

TroublesomeEx · 27/05/2012 10:02

Yesterday I was ill. It was too hot.

Today DH and the children are off out I'm staying in and trying to keep cool and out of the sun. (very UV sensitive).

So I do complain about the sun - but I love the snow and the cold. Autumn - spring great. Just the summer I have a problem with. And torrential downpours that make it difficult to go anyway.

But no I'm never one of those complaining in the winter.

PuffPants · 27/05/2012 10:05

I want sunshine, a few cotton wool clouds and a temperature of 21. Every day. Oh and some overnight showers to keep the gardens happy. If I don't get it, I'm going to complain, ok?

If I wanted to bake in 26 I'd book a bloody holiday. This was not part of my UK contract Wink

TroublesomeEx · 27/05/2012 10:06

I want sunshine, a few cotton wool clouds and a temperature of 21. Every day. Oh and some overnight showers to keep the gardens happy.

Actually, that would be perfect!

Catsmamma · 27/05/2012 10:07

I am totally amazed by our weather atm

NE Scotland, coastal, and this is the EIGHTH CONSECUTIVE DAY of glorious weather.

One day the haar raced in for a couple of hours at lunch time at home, but it went back out and three or four mornings the haar has been here, but burned off really quickly

Out in Dundee on friday and it looked like a European City...not a coat or heavy cardi to be seen

I just don't believe it! :D And I am sunburned again! I may even tan to white if this keeps up. (Scottish folks have to start from blue, through white, to get to tanned!)

Emmielu · 27/05/2012 10:09

YANBU. I love this weather! It makes a change to the usual for us & it means we all get to go out & get some well deserved fresh air!!!!

LadyBeagleEyes · 27/05/2012 10:13

I'ts another glorious day here in the NW Highlands.
I think we're one of the hottest parts of the country.
I'm lucky enough to live in a small village with a loch, so was splashing about there with my dog yesterday.
Lovely.

But, but, but it's our national past time, moaning about the weather!

And you thought it was football!

It should be an Olympic sport, weather moaning. UK would get gold every time.

Codandchops · 27/05/2012 16:44

catsmamma, I once spent a most glorious week in NE Scotland p it was the first week of September and utterly beautiful Meanwhile my sneering BIL took off for Barbados and water skiing....and they had a hurricane. I didn't laugh.....much.
