I went shopping yesterday and I was thinking how lovely it is that the Union flag is being celebrated...rather than seen as 'racist'.

I suppose everyone's going to cash in on the Olympics and the Jubilee, but you can't blame them really.

well i am in NI and am most definitely not a unionist so would be slightly miffed to have bread arrive in a union jack. BUT i fully accept that this is down to being raised in a culture where the union jack was used to antagonise and create hostility. however, i dont think they would be allowed to wrap bread in union jacks here. could be wrong though. at the end of the day no-one has to buy the bread if they dont want to. could just imagine the uproar here though if bread started getting delivered wrapped in the tricolour!

Well last time I looked Scotland was still part of the UK so YABU as the Union flag is still your country's flag - you have the Saltire for when you need it just as the Welsh have Y Ddraig Goch, the English the Cross of St George and the N Irish have the Union Flag or the Ulster Banner (possibly) or the NI ensign
