This morning, my son - the 15 year old

........ who cannot get out of bed.
........who misses two school buses a week because he gets out of bed at 0750 (bus leaves at 0800).
........who sits on the sofa and stuffs food wrappers down the side rather than walk across the room to the bin.
.........who goes to put something in the dishwasher, but when he sees it is full of clean stuff having just finished its cycle, stacks plates and cups up on the worktop waiting for someone else to empty it.
.........who puts clean clothes in the laundry basket rather than fold them up and put them away.

was downstairs in the kitchen today, dressed in school uniform, at 0730, emptying the dishwasher with a cup of tea made for me on the table.....
ConfusedShockConfusedShockConfusedShockConfusedShock

Is he on drugs?

Is there a major unreasonable request coming up, requiring girding of the loins......

Help!

thegingerone · 03/05/2012 17:45

reality check. ds1 has just come in to ask if i was planning to do the pasta for tea as his sister seems to be having an astonishingly long breastfeed! Blush

Chilenachica · 03/05/2012 18:58

Ooh, yes, I'd love a macaroon please, I've missed lunch waiting for this bloody update

(not really, nothing makes me miss lunch, not even a Kevin saga)

Zara1984 · 03/05/2012 19:05

What no update yet?! I've got home from work now and am putting off making dinner because of this thread!

OP's DS has defo had a Kevin-becomes-a-man experience. More than that though - his good behaviour is down to the fact the girl is his proper gf now and there will be REGULAR shagging. Key point IMO....

Rhinosaurus · 03/05/2012 19:13

Gosh you lot are more needy than a houseful of teens.

I am really sorry, but the story is not as exciting and amusing as we were hoping. There was no festival ticket waving pregnancy tattooed and pierced older woman (possibly a teacher) involved.

Went past the bus stop this morning, saw all the Kevins waiting for the bus, there was also another friends who doesn?t live in this village, he wasn?t wearing uniform, but I thought nothing of it as they often have vocational days. I just assumed he was staying with one of their mutual friends here. Lets call the friend Dave.

About 11am my PCSO who I am almost on first name terms with phoned, and asked me if I had seen Dave. I said that was odd, I had seen Dave this morning at the school bus stop. Turns out Dave has run away from home three days ago (and has not been going to school).

Gave PCSO permission to talk to my Kevin in school, and phoned the school to give consent. Then had an excruciating wait until 3.30 when I could phone Kevin. Turns out Dave?s mum and dad had a massive fight, culminating in Mum being carted off to A&E and Dad threatening Dave with a knife as he had tried to stick up for his mum.

This is where I should mention that Dave is on a child protection plan due to his parents? domestic abuse, a fact which I found out from work and caused me a dilemma I posted on here about Linky.

Apparently Dave has been sleeping in a tent in a nearby field (our tent actually), and has been spending the day in the tent, or just walking around fields.

Emptying the dishwasher ? had been in the kitchen getting a stash of food for Dave and needed an excuse to be up early.

Walking the dog ? Going to see Dave.

Getting up early ? making sure he got some food stash for Dave, and enough time to see him for ten minutes before school.

Hoovering the bedroom ? Getting sleeping bag for Dave out of wardrobe and knocked over a bag of crisps and then trod on them.

Cleaning out the wardrobe ? getting warm clothes for Dave.

Being nice ? apparently after hearing about Dave?s parents actually appreciated us.

Going into school with OH ? because he knew OH would drive past bus stop and see him.

Poor Dave has gone off to emergency care, Kevin asked if he could stay here, but sadly this wasn?t possible. I felt really sorry for him, he is a really nice lad, but has a definite air of neglect about him. I said to Kevin that he would probably be allowed to come over for a weekend if we organise it through social services.

Hopefully the good behaviour will continue, now that he realises the shit life some Kevins have to live.
