This morning, my son - the 15 year old

........ who cannot get out of bed.
........who misses two school buses a week because he gets out of bed at 0750 (bus leaves at 0800).
........who sits on the sofa and stuffs food wrappers down the side rather than walk across the room to the bin.
.........who goes to put something in the dishwasher, but when he sees it is full of clean stuff having just finished its cycle, stacks plates and cups up on the worktop waiting for someone else to empty it.
.........who puts clean clothes in the laundry basket rather than fold them up and put them away.

was downstairs in the kitchen today, dressed in school uniform, at 0730, emptying the dishwasher with a cup of tea made for me on the table.....
ConfusedShockConfusedShockConfusedShockConfusedShock

Is he on drugs?

Is there a major unreasonable request coming up, requiring girding of the loins......

Help!

I'm all logged onto MN just to see what was at the bus stop this morning. Grin sits back... Brew

Haha Rhino, here's an other one that logged in just to see if there was any conclusion yet Grin . Your household sounds much like mine eventhough I only have 2 teens of my own.I thought my DD had gone on a 'health spree' yesterday as she kept coming into the kitchen for 'goodies'. "Mum,can I have an apple" "Yeah, sure hun, help yourself" "Mum,can I have some ice for in my water" "Yeah sure hun, help yourself". Half an hour later my great friend's son comes down the stairs proudly sporting a pierced ear!! Shock. My friend is very protective over her boys you should know.... Luckily my friend text me last night thanking my DD for doing a very neat and tidy job and not to worry it wouldn't affect our friendship..... She had made him take it out,but said she'd done a hell of a better job than he did on his last attempt with a drawing pin...

Eventhough I only have 2 teens of my own,my house is usually full of them.I run a guest house so have space but they all know how to behave and their first question when they come in is usually "have you got any guests in?" as they all know that requires a slight adjustment of behaviour. If so they all gather in our converted cellar/teen den to do some games or have a general chat,if not they gather round the piano in the breakfast room, get their guitars out and have a sing song of sorts. They toast a loaf of bread between them (but always ask) and check if there's 'any bacon wot wants eatin'?

They ALL take their shoes off when they come in so more often than not I have a fine selection of teen-trainers (lovely Hmm stacked up in my hall varying from ballet pumps to 'vans' in the sizes 4-14.

I lurve all my teens most of the time and enjoy their company. They really are so funny at times and not even aware of it....

News?

I'm following this and feeling slightly dizzy having realised that ds1( 8), ds2 (5) and dd 5mths will make me a mum of teens for a prolonged time. Hadn't thought that one through.Hmm Not sure I'll be able to take this level of mystery for 15years! I'm struggling with the suspense of Rhinoteen and I only found this thread last night!

redrubyshoes · 03/05/2012 10:55

I mean the sudden keeness to walk the dog must mean he was walking somewhere? I think somewhere specific where a certain person was going to be so he had a valid excuse (the dog) for wandering past and 'bumping' into that person.

That is what I used to do as a lovestruck teenager anyway. Grin

GinPalace · 03/05/2012 11:00

drums fingers on table. Were there are clues at the bus stop Rhinosleuth ?

JustFab · 03/05/2012 11:06

Mine is going through full on let-me-see-exactly-how-rude-I-can-be-to-mum so any ideas for selling him getting through to him would be great!

BassaiDai · 03/05/2012 11:16

I am entering the Keviness with my dd I fear. We have had tears/trantrums and sheer trauma over a boy fancying her this week. She has been "in love" with someone else for 3 years who doesn't give a donkeys about her and generally her life is "crap". She is nearly 14. Then I have 8 year old ds who is already a mini Kev. Wake me up in 10 years please.

I am enjoying this thread very much .

thegingerone · 03/05/2012 11:43

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 03/05/2012 13:08

restocks coffee/tea and cake table...

how is Kev and his teen buddies this morning?

You really have to admire your daughters dedication to her hair. I remember that spiral perms were 'in' when I was at secondary school. If my hair wasnt super curly and crispy with mousse/gel (no such thing as serum then, or Moroccan oil) then life wasnt worth living! Grin

blackcurrants · 03/05/2012 13:10

This thread has made me laugh and tremble in fear (DS is 2. What have I done?!)

Keep on posting, OP! :) We need to know!
