I have a friend, who has three children and her house looks a LOT worse. No lie.

fullofregrets · 26/04/2012 14:38

That's what my house would look like if I had loads of kids.
It looks a bit like it sometimes with only one child. Untidy!

DesperatelySeekingSedatives · 26/04/2012 14:39

It doesn't look too bad, dirt wise. However I'm Hmm at the graffiti on the walls. My DD has been found guilty of this too, but she's gone about it with crayons and felt tips, not spray paint. WTAF are young children doing with spray paint?! Shock

I read the link earlier and the hairdresser reported her, which is understandable really as she'd locked the kids in a room while she had her hair done.

I don't get the big deal with the pile of laundry though- there are 15 people in a house that's too small for them ofcourse there's going to be a huge pile of laundry! The little ones using potties outside is again no big deal- she has 8 3 year olds. If this stops them soiling themselves then potties nearby can't be a bad thing.

notafighter · 26/04/2012 14:42

I love one of the captions

.....Toys left carelessly round the backyard........ you know how kids do Grin

They are toys for playing with,

MotherOfSuburbia · 26/04/2012 14:46

sometimes my house looks a little bit like that
Blush

DesperatelySeekingSedatives · 26/04/2012 14:55

Yeah I was a bit Confused at that too notafighter Grin after all other peoples' children^ never just leave there toys on the floor, waiting to be played with Hmm

I do think they clutch at straws trying to find ways to slag this woman off at times. However, I don't like her. She was hugely irresponsible (I'm sure she must know that herself by now though) and even more so for spending money on things she doesn't really need if she really is in dire financial straits. Like hair.

MrsLettuce · 26/04/2012 14:56

My DC can make that much of a mess of the house in a day, given the chance.

It looked terribly untidy but maybe the filth didn't come over on the photos? No idea.

Memoo · 26/04/2012 14:57

My house is like that right now and I only have 3 kids (and one seriously mental dog)

MrsLettuce · 26/04/2012 14:57

and I only have 2, not 14...

SmellsLikeTeenStrop · 26/04/2012 15:09

I'm literally loling at the captions. Kids using their potties outside is labelled as 'disturbing', ruh roh, when I was potty training I took the potty outside so that I wouldn't have to rush a toddler in to the house with the risk of said toddler wetting themselves.

And as for the pic of the outside with 'toys left carelessly', the pic has kids in it who are obviously playing with said toys. Who the fuck tidies away toys when their kids are still playing with them?

The house isn't that messy considering 15 people live there. I've seen episodes of how clean is your house where only 1 or 2 people live in the house and it's absolutely filthy and disgusting, vermin everywhere. The pics of Sulemans house show a disorganised house which clearly has lots of kids living in it. Squalour indeed, this is a typical daily fail shite.

diddl · 26/04/2012 15:09

I have 2 teenagers & no excuse- apart from too much MN can´t be arsed
most some days.

I cannot imagine getting 8 young children washed, dressed & breakfasted every morning.

The only thing that struck me was the "graffiti" tbh.

The room with all the clothes-my teenage daughter´s has looked like thatHmm

porcamiseria · 26/04/2012 15:14

I am a bit shamed for starting such a dull thread

love the way they call potties "portable training toilets"- since when!!

OP posts:
themightyfandango · 26/04/2012 15:20

Putting aside whether or not she should have ended up as the mother of 8 babies. She seems to cope better than I would, I think the media should give her a break.

Sadly she probably needs all publicity, good or bad as her celebrity status seems to provide a fair chunk of her income, hence the need for hair and beauty treatments.

The fear of providing for 14 children for the next 15 years would send me mental.

OrmIrian · 26/04/2012 15:27

No it isn't that bad. A bit bare perhaps but not squalid,

ReallyTired · 26/04/2012 15:28

I'm horrified that the family are getting death threats. That graffiti does not look the work of a child.

The idea of potty training eight children doesn't bare thinking about. I am not horrified by pre schoolers having a potty in their bedroom or outside.

Birdsgottafly · 26/04/2012 15:34

The concerns were the lack of supervision (to be able to do the graffitti) and the locking the children into the bedroom.

Then it was that she wouldn't pay to get the plumbing fixed and the house is under repossession, yet she spent $520 on her hair (so not lacking in funds).

The children were malnourished and dirty. As part of the plan, the cleaners were sent in to help, to allow her to care for the children(all 14 of them). It wasn't the state of the house, as such.

McHappyPants2012 · 26/04/2012 15:38

Don't look to bad to me

DamselInDisgrace · 26/04/2012 15:39

One of the accusations was that the boys were wearing girls clothes. The horror! I bet they were pink and everything.

DesperatelySeekingSedatives · 26/04/2012 15:42

Some of the graffitti inside the house definately looks like a child's drawing. The death threats are vile. Octomom is pretty vile herself but she doesn't deserve death threats and neither do her innocent children.

modernlifeishubris · 26/04/2012 15:48

Think the DM are guilty of photo-shopping again!

First photo has "Do not enter" and "baby" and then further down, a different angle has only "baby" and the same wooden panel in bottom left (next to photo of graffiti of stick man and "hi")

Anything to make a woman look worse, had never read DM till Mumsnet need it's URL wiped from my brain

BalloonSlayer · 26/04/2012 15:52

Oh gawd I clicked on this thread thinking it was about the Octonauts' house.

Was intrigued as to how it was dirty.

< gets yellow pages >

< looks for "life" >

LadySybilPussPolham · 26/04/2012 16:11

ditto Balloon
although you'd think with eight arms she'd be a bit of a whiz at the housework Wink

LadySybilPussPolham · 26/04/2012 16:14

that would be funny obviously if she was an octopus not an Octonaut

(shuffles away)

ExitPursuedByABear · 26/04/2012 16:15

It doesn't look that bad to me. DD's bedroom frequently has clean washing strewn all over the floor as she is incapable of hanging anything up.

Bit spartan but nothing worthy of condemnation.

Locking the children in the bedroom on the other hand Shock

curiositykitten · 26/04/2012 16:18

I don't think it's that bad, but the graffiti on the walls? How did that happen? Tsk tsk.
