..."only one working toilet"

Yup, just the one toilet here too!

Gotta love the Daily Mail.

GossipWitch · 26/04/2012 16:31

well apart from the graffiti it actually doesn't look half bad considering 14 kids live there, my house has been in much worse conditions... except for the graffiti, I've known 1 child create more mess tbh. She might not be supermum you know, working to support her children and having a dad for them all, but at least she tidies up after them all.

FoofFighter · 26/04/2012 16:32

She has 6 older children too, guessing the artwork/graffitti might be from them?

Have to say the children don't look malnourished in that picture of them in the garden playing - a little grubby perhaps from having no shoes/trousers etc on but then if potty training...

BlueFergie · 26/04/2012 16:35

LOL at boys wearing girls clothes.

AmberLeaf · 26/04/2012 16:38

Its not that bad, as could be expected in a house with 15 people living there!

How do those kids look malnourished though?

HeadfirstForHalos · 26/04/2012 16:45

I don't even think the locking them in the bedroom is that bad, you couldn't get your hair done with 14 kids running riot and be watching them properly at the same time. It's not ideal but as a one off it's not abuse or neglect. The kids look a healthy weight too.

Kladdkaka · 26/04/2012 16:47

The only bit which makes me go Hmm is the spray painted graffiti everywhere. It looks like an adult had a hand in that to me. So they can have another Hmm

The clothes strewn bedroom looks wonderful compared to the cesspit my teenage daugther lives in.

youarekidding · 26/04/2012 16:55

Oh Balloon I 'm you said that as I was wondering how people to managed to create an issue about the state of an CBeebies Characters home. [home]

But no........... they have managed to create a seemingly non-issue over someone elses.

The only thing I didn't agree with is the haircut - well not at that price anyway - but the rest I was a bit .......... so?

youarekidding · 26/04/2012 16:56

[home]? Grin

Mother2many · 26/04/2012 17:00

Yes, I think the media sometime overdramatizes things. I'm not impressed they can insult her because of the boys wearing girls clothes..(who cares? My son did too and I dressed him in pink! While they were at home Blush ) or the potty outside...as if she can leave the rest outside to deal with one child inside using the toilet??! Seriously.

As for her house. Mine often looks like this...and I have 2 at home. Somedays worse than others, as I am sure like her.

As for the marks on the walls! NOPE... wouldn't allow the children markers/crayons, etc. unless supervised...as they won't learn they can't do that elsewhere.... Hmm

I do NOT agree with her having soo many children. It wasn't fair to them. Period.

As for her hair costs? Unreal.... Maybe she can't manage her money right...and needs food vouchers, or whatever so she can't just dip in for expensive hair dues... I don't know.

As for her house...get over it... CFS... As if your perfect... Angry

Psammead · 26/04/2012 17:08

Bit messy, bit lacking in furniture, but nothing extreme.

The children do not look malnourished and a bit of dirt from playing in the garden never hurt anyone.

I plan to potty train DD by letting her run around with no nappy on until she realises what weewee is. God help me if SS sees Confused

The grafitti is unecessary and I have no idea how someone can spend so much on their hair.

bobbledunk · 26/04/2012 17:53

I've seen worse and considering there are 14 children in the house it's not too awful. The graffiti makes it look ten times worse.

I feel sorry for everyone in this situation, especially for the grandparents and the children, I do feel a bit sorry for octomum as well because I've seen her in interviews and she seems to be mentally unwell.

minimisschief · 26/04/2012 18:31

i feel mentally unwell with two rampant kids. imagine 14 of the feckers...the stress... i need to lie down thinking about it lmao

GeriatricBabyMama · 26/04/2012 18:33

How humiliating for her. Ok, she was an idiot for getting into this situation but I feel really sorry for her all the same. The media seems to relish putting the boot into her and her kids as much as they can. It's cruel IMO.

fullofregrets · 26/04/2012 18:40

God, mine went on the potty in a car park today. Will ss be knocking my door down at any moment?

Looks a lot better than mine would if I had eight...

Serenitysutton · 26/04/2012 19:02

I am quite surprised she's in mortgage arrears. Who on earth gave her a mortgage? She did make quite a bit of money when they were born, more than enough to buy a house in cash then at least you have Some security. Mind you maybe she did and then went on to borrow against it later

thedogsrolex · 26/04/2012 19:04

I can't see where it looks dirty. The graffiti looks awful yes but i've seen much much worse.

RightBuggerforit · 26/04/2012 20:48

I love how the hairdresser was so concerned about the welfare of the children being locked in the room, that she immediately decided to only stay long enough to do 500 odd quidsworth of hairdressing before rushing to tell the newspapers all about it! Heartwarming!

I didn't think the house looked that bad at all, considering she's a single mum of 14, with 8 3yr olds. I'm quite impressed really!

wishiwasonholiday · 26/04/2012 20:55

The toys left carelessly round the garden made me Grin too, it looks just like my garden after all the kids have been out (am a cm)Blush

ll31 · 26/04/2012 21:06

when one photo is captioned "toys are carelessly left round the back yard" - not quite a reason to call the social services... having said that one person looking after that many children seems impossible

porcamiseria · 26/04/2012 21:20

Its very mean
