Actually i know i an not being unreasonable. I don't know what's been done to it before it goes into its box.

Husband says its weird but no its not, he is just a filthy minge

I have never, ever felt the need to sterilise a new toothbrush, perhaps I am a minger as well.

I will be watching this with interest.

diddl · 20/04/2012 08:18

Seems odd to me tbh.

Do you also sterilise them after each use?

YABU imo.

Callisto · 20/04/2012 08:18

YABU actually. Sterilising brand new toothbrushes is quite OCD (in the nicest possible way). And what exactly do you think goes on in the toothbrish factory?

your mouth is a helluva lot more minging than a brand-new toothbruth (not YOURs, just in general - Grin )

how do you sterilise it anyway? bleach? Confused

TanteRose · 20/04/2012 08:19

toothbrush

feedthegoat · 20/04/2012 08:19

I presume in that case that you handily whip out a pot of milton in the middle of restaurants to sterilise your cutlery then? Or maybe don't eat out as you don't know who has touched your food? But then, even if you cook at home, who knows what happened to it prior to purchase. Exactly where does it end if you do this?

In answer, YABU.

What an odd question!

They get a whole lot more bacteria growign on them after being wet, in your mouth and laden with food/plaque particles surely? and then you leave it uncovered in a bathroom where people flush toilets etc??

We should all be dead from tooth brush pathogens LOL. However we have immune systems and cope fine, so I wouldn't worry.

Petsinmypudenda · 20/04/2012 08:20

No of course i don't sterilise it after every use that would be silly... It has its own little case that it goes in so i know its not interfered with...

I boil it for 5 mins or so.

You are all unclean!

Do you wash hands every time you touch anything
tampons before using them?
Cutlery?
Etc etc etc?

Petsinmypudenda · 20/04/2012 08:23

Two Callisto. One for home and one for travel.

OP posts:
diddl · 20/04/2012 08:24

at the revoltingness that is a unsterilised toothbrush case.

SoupDragon · 20/04/2012 08:24

YABU and completely nuts.

HTH.

Oakmaiden · 20/04/2012 08:25

I would have thought damp and bacteria laden toothbrushes in a case would be a recipe for bacteria growth...

Callisto · 20/04/2012 08:25

I'm a double minge(r) then because my toothbrush travels naked.

TanteRose · 20/04/2012 08:25

no, no, toothbrush cases ARE minging Shock

the toothbrush doesn't get air-dried properly, and it will get MOULDY...eeewww...
