Alot of the horses will be injured and whipped into going faster, it's also a long race course.

I can't believe people would bet on this event

Dh got the winner. at 33-1, so thtas good. Both ds's, wer shouting shaka-laka-boom-boom, all the way through. it was a good race.

GrannyS · 14/04/2012 17:08

Yes Sparklingbrook, they had to catch him. Wish they hadn't. :(

Sparklingbrook · 14/04/2012 17:09

I am in tears about Synchronised, horse racing is shite.

Seriously love...go away Hmm

Wheresmycaffeinedrip · 14/04/2012 17:09

Omg been out all day . 2 dead omg poor poor horses why o why do they do this to them every year they are dying and yet they carry on . It doesn't get more sick than that aside from the idiots I serve who want their money back on a poor dead horse :(

GrannyS · 14/04/2012 17:10

Agree Sparkling.

LineRunner · 14/04/2012 17:10

I actually do think that Synchronised will become an eblem now.

ArielThePiraticalMermaid · 14/04/2012 17:11

Synchronised - I wish you had got away.

catgirl1976 · 14/04/2012 17:12

Um - Military - no and why?

LineRunner · 14/04/2012 17:12

Synchronised is now an emblem.

PurpleRomanesco · 14/04/2012 17:12

Tragic.

TBH I have no idea why According To Pete was running. He was far too small to be running the national IMO. I said this at the start of the race.

Terrible losses.

Flightty · 14/04/2012 17:13

FFS

All of you who insisted that any horse that unseated its rider beforehand wouldn't be raced....hope you're proud of yourselves.

Oh, and in answer to your previous question I worked in Newmarket as a work rider. I also spent two years breaking yearlings before moving to Newmarket. Happy with my qualifications? Good!

Sparklingbrook-me too,he didnt want to do the race,i wonder if he knew Sad

Kayano · 14/04/2012 17:14

Frankel won't have had a lucky escape. If a racehorse can't race again what will happen to it?

It can't be raced or trained, how long before the wealthy owners lose interest? Sad

RIP horses x

Flightty · 14/04/2012 17:14

A good race Oblomov? Is the money all you can think about? I don't think any more than 15 made it to the finish, two dead, however many others injured

I fail to comprehend some people

LineRunner · 14/04/2012 17:14

M'Wag why pick on catgirl1976?

PurpleRomanesco · 14/04/2012 17:14

I would suggest you go away MilitaryWag if you cannot have a proper conversation.

Lovely how you used the death of these to horses to hop up and down and say "Seeeeeee? Wasn't I right!?"

How thoughtful of you.

Sparklingbrook · 14/04/2012 17:15

He did know. That photographer man caught him and led him back to his death. Sad

catgirl1976 · 14/04/2012 17:15

Thought you worked in the stud industry?

MonsterBookOfTysons · 14/04/2012 17:15

:(

seeker · 14/04/2012 17:15

And what do people think happens to race horses that can't race any more?

Oh, that's right,, they go and live on farms, don't they?

Marne · 14/04/2012 17:16

It is sad that 2 horses died Sad, i'm not against horse racing (i watch it most weeks) but i do get upset when horses fall and i do think there still needs to be changes to make the national more safe for horses and riders.

dh had backed 'Synchronised', he did run off without his rider before the start and it looked like he wouldn't race (as jokey was holdinghis arm), the horse was checked over by a vet before starting the race but maybe the jokey was not fit to be riding and made a mistake (if so it was selfish of him to cary on and race if he was injured). How sad that the poor horse fell early on Sad.

Also i think there are too many in the race, many are not capable of making it around such a huge course and should not be there, quite often a fault from one horse/jokey can cause others to fall as they are so close together.

To keep the greyhounds company.
