it just looks so odd and wrong - is it just me or anyone else?

Don't see how its wrong. I imagine most people would leave off the top, it looks uncomfortable, but its not wrong.

imnotmymum · 30/03/2012 13:31

some look cute but that one looks awful tbh

catgirl1976 · 30/03/2012 13:31

YANBU - what is the point of the top part? Hmm

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 30/03/2012 13:31

Agree with Pascha - it looks wierd as most wouldnt bother with the top but no idea why it could be wrong. If so, when would it become right?

squoosh · 30/03/2012 13:32

Looks beyond silly. What exactly is the top supposed to be covering??

What's also silly are all these celebs going on countless holidays to Dubai. Urban sprawl in a desert built with slave labour. Ick.

FreudianSlipper · 30/03/2012 13:33

i do not like them what is the point

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 30/03/2012 13:33

Squoosh - Dubai is a fab place to visit...so much to do!

loveroflife · 30/03/2012 13:34

it's wrong imo because bikinis and bras are designed for women with breasts and a baby does not have breasts.

OP posts:
Blu · 30/03/2012 13:36

I don't understand why you would put a baby in a garment designed to shield adult breasts from view, no.

Her thighs are thinner than the baby's Shock

TuftyFinch · 30/03/2012 13:36

I think it's more wrong that she spent £178 on her own bikini.

Bloodymary · 30/03/2012 13:36

I do not really mind little girls in bikinis, my little girl (6) has always had a couple in her summer wardrobe.
But not the ones with little triangles of material, they are for breasts, so she always has the bandeau type tops.

BettySwollocksandaCrustyRack · 30/03/2012 13:39

Well sometimes we just wear things because we think they look nice, not because of the functional purpose they serve. maybe thats just me then.....I pick my battles sensibly. I agree though, it looks horrid but that because its a horrid top.......i imagine some can look quite cute.

StealthPolarBear · 30/03/2012 13:43

those photos are painfully posed - especially the one where she's "flicking her long blonde hair out of her face".
Cute baby and she looks fantastic, but the whole article is vomit inducing. It marks her 5th holiday since giving birth. Well woop de doo.

mamalovesmojitos · 30/03/2012 13:45

Looks awful but that baby is so cute! I would love a stomach as toned as the mums. Gah.

NotMostPeople · 30/03/2012 13:45

YABU how silly.

Birdsgottafly · 30/03/2012 13:47

The top came off in the later pictures.

Perhaps she dressed her in the top, also, because she knew that they would be photo'd. We don't know what that scrutiny is like, no doubt others will criticise the bare-top photo's.

I think that t-shirted babies make more sense in very hot countries.

Starwisher · 30/03/2012 13:47

Op I have always secretly hated children in bikins even us a kid i used to cringe seeing other 7 year olds in one.I can't even explain why, but I do. Yanbu.

GlitterySkulls · 30/03/2012 13:48

ok, i agree, it's an ugly bikini, but it's not wrong. it's only beachwear.

perceptionreality · 30/03/2012 13:50

I like bikinis for babies / children but not the one in that picture.

LifeIsButtercream · 30/03/2012 13:55

I have a tankini-type bikini for nearly-3 DD (like a short vest and a skirted pants) as it's easier to handle for potty-access.

If I had a one-year old on a blazing beach like that she would be wearing a sun-safe suit and brimmed hat and sitting in the shade as much as possible - I'm guessing the Disney Princess chair is hers - it's positioned in the sun or so it looks in the pics.

Bonsoir · 30/03/2012 13:57

No. DD wore bikinis when she was on holiday in Italy when she was 1 and looked fabulous! She loved herself in them! Pretty cotton Liberty-print type.

JuliaScurr · 30/03/2012 13:59

YANBU

Katienana · 30/03/2012 14:00

Looks a bit weird because baby is so young. I would have more of baby's skin covered in the strong sun. I have photos of myself wearing a bikini aged about 3, I loved it & would never thought there was anything 'wrong' with it.

2cats2many · 30/03/2012 14:01

YANBU. I also don't like them either. Why the frick does a one year old need a bra? I think they look quite cute in just the pants only tho'.
