To ask other mums on MN not to use the F word?

raspberrypi · 13/03/2012 08:52

I am a newbie. I find that F word is peppered in a lot of the threads. I used to swear a lot but I have stopped completely because I realize it's common, and makes a woman sound undignified. Is it too much, ladies, to ask you not to use F-ing thsi and F-ing that? Can't we adults discuss things without resorting to sailor language? Thank you.

Why are they sweaty Lurker - is it because they charge about swearing a lot. Damn commoners.

scaryteacher · 13/03/2012 11:01

'Scary I think sailor language is talking about the house in terms of a boat. Like when DP says he is going to the galley and do I want a drink? What galley???'

Oh, you mean like going to the heads and a hollywood shower (having the water running continuously for those with nasty minds!), as opposed to rum, bum, buggery and the lash?

Oh and who says we are all Mums...

IamtheZombie · 13/03/2012 11:02

Rhino, you missed the BIG F word on Fid's diagram.

It also says FUEL...

Hedley, Zombie has just given you a hug in the Dustbin. Get your arse over there!

redrubyshoes · 13/03/2012 11:02

Lurker

My ex boyfriend went to Winchester College. He was one the sweatiest. You were right the first time.

Kayzr · 13/03/2012 11:03

Yes that is it. It is worse for the first week or so when he gets home, then we get back to kitchen and bedroom instead of galley and cabin.

Or the time he told me the starboard indicator on the car was broken.

only4tonight · 13/03/2012 11:04

How about wankbadger or cuntspanner? Can we say those? 2 great swears taught to me by mn.

LentillyFart · 13/03/2012 11:12

I will have to have a break from this - there will be leakage any minute now!

LentillyFart · 13/03/2012 11:13

Oh ffs

cuntspanner

Fukkit!

HedleyLamarr · 13/03/2012 11:13

Noted Zombie. :o

heliumballoon · 13/03/2012 11:14

Maybe OP didn't mean sailor language. Maybe she meant pirate language. Anyone got a thread we could direct her to?

IamtheZombie · 13/03/2012 11:16

Zombie seems to recall that one of the language options on Facebook is Pirate. Perhaps the OP could try that.

Elfontheedge · 13/03/2012 11:19

Arf at "popped my fuck cherry"

DustyDen · 13/03/2012 11:22

This thread has been an absolute fucking joy.

OP, do you want me to fax you a copy of my qualifications so you can check whether I'm allowed to swear or not?

scaryteacher · 13/03/2012 11:23

Kayzr, I thought 'sailor language' was all the bloody acronyms with which our conversations get peppered; 25 years being married to a submariner, and I still don't get them all.

AbsofCroissant · 13/03/2012 11:25

Oh Raspberry, this was never going to end well.

  1. posting in AIBU
  2. Saying it's common to swear
  3. Telling people what to do - that NEVER goes down well on MN.

The creative use of swear words is one of the reasons I think English should win the "which is the better language, French or English" debate (French) DP and I have going on. I mean, just Amy Winehouse's famous "what kind of fuckery is this?"makes me smile.

(Masters degree, various other qualifications, bet I'm better educated than yow)

ClipboardAnnie · 13/03/2012 11:25

As a newbie I was welcomed (and mentored by MaryZ - thanks Mary).
My first journey into MN was an accidental visit to a Friday Night Thread. Goodness gracious! What a shock to a decent, respectable mother. I've loved it here ever since - it's fucking great!

FeckArse · 13/03/2012 11:29

This is the only place that I can have the odd fuck and feck in peace.

CaoNiMa · 13/03/2012 11:30

Fuck off, OP!

Of all the things making me laugh on this thread (and there are many) arbitrary bees is making me snigger most. I'm gettig funny looks in this waiting room.

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 13/03/2012 11:38

I rather assumed that anyone who talks like the op (I mean 'ladies'! seriously?) is trolling, also the name rasberrypi is just far to geeky for someone who get offended by a bit of bad language. And I say that as someone who works in IT.

But either way it is my due date today but no baby yet so I had better make the most of my lack of mother status:

Fuck, fuck, fuckity fuck bits with naughty lady fuck bits mixed in for good measure.

There...that was nice :o

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 13/03/2012 11:40

Thanks all for the sailor-language tips!

I forgot to say before, but I am fucking common as a fucking steaming cunting pile of fucking pigshit bollocks as well as swearing my titting cocking head off at all wanking times.

OP?

OP?

HidingInTheUndergrowth · 13/03/2012 11:40

doh! That should be raspberrypi*, obviously. Sorry for the typos, I blame the obvious degeneration of my IQ from so much swearing :)
