MamaMary · 07/03/2012 15:56

Yes, YABU.

HalfPastWine · 07/03/2012 15:57

And she's off again. Seeker love a good Christian rant.

MissAnnersley · 07/03/2012 15:59

Yes YABU.

misslinnet · 07/03/2012 15:59

YABU to think that only applies to Christians.

cornsilkidy · 07/03/2012 15:59

If so then my line manager must be a christian. And Gina Ford.

manicinsomniac · 07/03/2012 15:59

Bit of a generalisation.

Some do, some don't.

Therefore I think YABU

fotheringhay · 07/03/2012 16:00

I'm not a Christian, but I think my views and beliefs should take precedence over everyone else's Grin

fotheringhay · 07/03/2012 16:01

I'm not Gina Ford!!

Psammead · 07/03/2012 16:01

Historically, possibly. These days, not so much.

Sirzy · 07/03/2012 16:01

Yabvu. I am Christian and that couldn't be further from the truth.

I could easily make such a rash comment about atheist who seem to think its fine to throw abuse at anyone with a faith - but I know that isn't the case for all.

HoneyandHaycorns · 07/03/2012 16:01

Yes, had you said some Christians, I'd have said yanbu. But as you just said "Christians", yabu.

PurpleRomanesco · 07/03/2012 16:01

Someone hold her down and I'll get the duct tape!

:o

NotaStatistic · 07/03/2012 16:02

YANBU i get hounded by christian flyers, preachers and people walking around with bibles all the time.

They knock on doors and asked my friend to recite from a bible to them. There is a definite superiority complex with it.

BUT its not just them other reliogions can be just as bad only i've never seen them walking round town or knocking on doors.

Elderberries · 07/03/2012 16:02

Oh dear

RuleBritannia · 07/03/2012 16:02

If you are a Christian, you are not being unreasonable. If you are of another faith, you will probably think that your faith is the best. I do not think that you are a Christian because you described them as other people by your use of the word 'their' and not 'our'.

rogersmellyonthetelly · 07/03/2012 16:02

There are pretentious self entitled twats In every corner of society, christianity is no exception.

MrGin · 07/03/2012 16:04

I'm just glad it's not the Christians not the menz being persecuted today.

HalfPastWine · 07/03/2012 16:04

Biscuit my first today

Debsbear · 07/03/2012 16:04

No more so than to state that mumsnetters think they are always right. It really depends on who you speak to. Of course Christians believe they are right to believe in God, but I don't know any who would try to force their beliefs on to anyone else (there's a difference between force and convince).

PurpleRomanesco · 07/03/2012 16:05

Yer next Gin.

Chubfuddler · 07/03/2012 16:05

Not your usual standard. Try again.

GrimmaTheNome · 07/03/2012 16:06

Seeker you dolt, you forgot the all-important word 'some'.

Want to start again on the assumption you didn't mean quite such a generalisation? Grin

I'd have said 'some religious people....' -

Some christians certainly do. Their historical privileges in our society are so engrained they take them for granted, they don't always realise how 'entitled' their attitudes are.

So - what in particular is winding you up right now?

NewChoos · 07/03/2012 16:07

Yes YABU

LeeCoakley · 07/03/2012 16:07

But sirzy, we don't make you practise atheism at school. Children have to pray to a Christian god at school unless they opt out.

Sirzy · 07/03/2012 16:09

Can you force anyone to pray? I doubt it, certainly not with it having any true meaning.

You also pick up on the key point that that aspect of the day can be opted out of.
