to not understand premade pasta?

Pasta: flour, eggs, oil.

I know some people can't cook, but I'm shocked to think that anyone would be too lazy to knock up some quick tagliatelle.

What a pretentious thread - nowt with pre-made pasta and I like both

messymammy · 21/02/2012 20:15

Disgraceful behaviour. Some people really have no standards. :o

Shocking!

Doesn't spaghetti grow on spaghetti trees?

bibbitybobbityhat · 21/02/2012 20:18

Yes, it only takes me a couple of hours to knock up a whole batch of spinach & ricotta tortelloni from scratch!! At this very moment I have 12 fully prepared home made pasta meals all ready and waiting in my freezer for when friends from my (strictly literary fiction only) book club drop in unexpectedly.

Are people unutterably lazy these days?

BelleEnd · 21/02/2012 20:18

I know, the lazy bastards. And do you know, some people buy their tomatoes from the supermarket instead of growing their own. I mean: Seeds, soil, sun, water... Not exactly rocket science is it?!

Goolash · 21/02/2012 20:19

It only speak Italian, that's why.

Glittertwins · 21/02/2012 20:19

You forgot the shop bought basil to go on the nasty bought tomatoes....;)

TheFantasticFixit · 21/02/2012 20:19

I have some friends who just won't put in the effort with Foresteros beans and actually buy chocolate from the supermarket. Lazy gits.

elliemay80 · 21/02/2012 20:20

flour, eggs, oil + mess on the worktops + unnecessary washing up.

when i get in from work there is nothing like boiling the kettle, putting some dried pasta on the hob for ten minutes and stirring in some pre-bought sauce and grating some cheese on top (can I get at least some points for not buying ready grated cheese?!)

(everlong - 'fred about a 'fred innit. The annual 'I don't understand the pre made pancake mix bollox)

BelleEnd · 21/02/2012 20:23

Glad you agree with me nik...

Don't get me started on shop bought cheese. If there's one thing Alex James has taught us, it's the beauty of rennet.

topknob · 21/02/2012 20:23

I love pre made pasta..so do the kids so thats a bonus :) Plus life is too short to fuck about making pasta !!! seriously all that mess when you could be doing something much more interesting.

Intrum · 21/02/2012 20:25

And what's with that shop bought ketchup?

Tomatoes, sugar and vinegar. Voila!

SlightlyJaded · 21/02/2012 20:32

OP, OP I buy the double pack of Waitrose peeled and chopped fresh onions (one red one white) because I can't even be arsed to chop an onion

Put that in your pasta maker

SlightlyJaded · 21/02/2012 20:34

ooooooooh thanks Chipping. I am forever answering threads about threads and missing the point never ever spotted a troll either

I have often heard pasta makers are the least used and useful kitchen gadgets.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 21/02/2012 20:40

I make my own flour FFS

thisisyesterday · 21/02/2012 20:40

ahh but this isn't the same at all is it/.

the other thread was about pancake MIX wasn't it? not pre-made pancakes.

i presumed it was about (sorry, haven' read it) the stuff where you have to add water and egg.
and really, you might as well just buy some flour which will be cheaper and add milk and egg instead...? no?

it IS bloody weird.

you are not comparing like with like. sorry Wink
