YABU

VivaLeBeaver · 01/01/2012 20:31

I've just bought my first one. Don't tell me it's a big faux pas?

HandMini · 01/01/2012 20:32

YABU. They look great on most people and neatly bridge the gap between hat (a bit middle aged and formal) and nothing (which i think can look like not enough effort for some occasions).

troisgarcons · 01/01/2012 20:32

Very 2010

SirSugar · 01/01/2012 20:33

They are made of bits of straw and old bird feathers, What is there to like about them?

MoChan · 01/01/2012 20:33

YANBU. Sorry to those that have just bought one Grin but they are, IMO, completely pointless and entirely ridiculous.

Sparklingbrook · 01/01/2012 20:33

They are really expensive for a hairband with 'stuff' on. Reminds me of deeley boppers. Grin

HandMini · 01/01/2012 20:34

They're also cheap to buy from Accesorize and pretty easy to make / add to.

SirSugar · 01/01/2012 20:34

Hand, you should have gone to spec savers

picnicbasketcase · 01/01/2012 20:34

I like the name. It conjures up an image of people so distracted by staring at a load of beaded feathers that they are unable to do anything else. Like they'd follow you around all day just glued to your head. Like the fascinator itself really.

HandMini · 01/01/2012 20:34

Perhaps I could turn a pair of specs into a fascinator....definitely possible.

SirSugar · 01/01/2012 20:35

I'm off to make one from the detrius from my sewing basket, bet I can do it in 10 minutes and sell it to someone on etsy for £50

oiwheresthecoffee · 01/01/2012 20:35

I fucking hate them. They look ridiculous.

Sparklingbrook · 01/01/2012 20:36

Reminds me of Kath and Kim. Grin

AnyoneforTurps · 01/01/2012 20:36

YANBU - they make 98% of wearers look silly.

SirSugar · 01/01/2012 20:36

LOATHE them

OP posts:
oiwheresthecoffee · 01/01/2012 20:36

Ahem. No intention of offending anyone but i do loathe them.

HandMini · 01/01/2012 20:37

And there, Alan, you give me another reason why fascinators are fabulous...a source if revenue for the crafty among us.

thepeoplesprincess · 01/01/2012 20:37

They're a bit Copacabana tbf.

SirSugar · 01/01/2012 20:37

I can't do links, please someone find us a really really bad example

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 01/01/2012 20:37

Yanbu.

Ugly hair accessories for people too dull to carry off a brim.

Ifancyashandy · 01/01/2012 20:38

Loather here too. Dated and boring.

Be bold! Wear a hat!
