You obviously all go to many more weddings and functions than I do to have such strong feelings about a few frouffy feathers on a headband. They're OK. Hats are OK too. Jewels in hair are OK. A good fascinator is better than a bad hat. A good hat is better than a bad headband etc..

But I still like my waterfall cardy so you don't need my sartorial advice.

SirSugar · 01/01/2012 21:02

SJP looks like shes sporting a wind tunnel, seriously she could take off in that. Who advises these poor people

Yanbu. They are all AWFUL. Like dungarees on adults are awful, or ponchos, or legwarmers. ALL. JUST. AWFUL.

SirSugar · 01/01/2012 21:03

Smeth, there was a whole thread on the waterfall cardie, that is also a sinner of a fashion garment

I quite like that one on SJP Oi. At least it covers her hideous face.

SmethwickBelle · 01/01/2012 21:05

HandMini · 01/01/2012 21:05

TalcAndTurnips · 01/01/2012 22:58

Why bother? Look, both hands are free for texting, sketching etc.

SuePurblybilt · 01/01/2012 22:59

Mning......
I always thought monkeys did it from behind. When I thought about it at all.

Though, of course, I think they are chimps like that bastard Bubbles

yellowraincoat · 01/01/2012 23:00

They are the stupidest idea ever. Can't stand them.

Backtobedlam · 01/01/2012 23:00

YANBU I wore one once, dp asked me why I had a dead bird on my head, I promptly removed it and have not dared wear one since. However, when I see them on other people I always think they look good...maybe you have to have a certain shape of head? Mines very rounded so can't carry it off.

TalcAndTurnips · 01/01/2012 23:01

Oh, I think that they are much like us on the whole.

LeBOF · 01/01/2012 23:03

Bonobo chimps are mostly lesbians, I was reading the other day. The girls, anyway.

missmiss · 01/01/2012 23:04

I know we've moved on from fascinators now, but this is a fascinating example.

MabelLucyAttwell · 01/01/2012 23:05

I wore one when I was married 16 years ago. We had a big, but comparatively cheap, wedding and I wore a rose in my hair. What's the difference between that and a fascinator?
