To demand a 'I can't be arsed with New Years Eve' thread?

I really thought there would be more threads on this by now? I am clearly a miserable old bag. I will be staying in with my bottle of wine and Twiglets.
I really can't be arsed with New Years Eve! :))

I'll join the club. I've never been one for new year though. Doesn't interest me at all - the only time I partied was with family for the millennium. Staying in, warm and snuggly munching chocolate infront of the tv or on MN is a perfect evening to me Grin

Too much enforced jollity for me. Plus I can't fit into anything that doesn't have an elastic aged waist anymore. So fuck it.

Hurrah! I am not alone. Exactly, stay in, be warm, sit on a sofa OR be out in freezing cold, ages to get a drink, nowhere to sit, cant talk to friends as have to shout cos music too loud.....I am 40 in Feb. I blame that...;)

I am normally in bed by 9 on nye just to be smug and hangover free on ny day.
This year i will endure, with a dot cotton licking piss off a nettle style face, a soiree (allegedly) at the inlaws.

But i bloody hate nye. I wish it was in july instead

I am with you - now going to have a lovely quiet night in, although the only thing I will miss is that I would love to be with a mate who has a fag so I could have a sneaky puff but other than that................

rock on catching up on my film collection Grin, although a bit gutted not going to the only party in the area where everyone else we know has been invited and we have not Hmm not sure what we did but there we go - still persona non grata.

Total non-event for me.Can't be doing with it.Feel ill if I get pissed and really don't want to kiss and be nice to total strangers.Bollocks to it - I'm staying in and watching my recording of "The Towering Inferno" with a nice cup of decaf.

I can't be bothered this year either.

Every year we all congregated as a family at my lovely DGMs house on NYE & NYD. Unfortunately we lost her at the beginning of December, so everyone's doing their own thing. It's just not going to be the same, so I've decided to stay in and eat my weight in cheese & crackers :(

I have Tuc Crackers,Aldi Cracker assortment, Twiglets and BBQ peanuts for my NYE nibbles. Cheddar, Edam and Brie. Can't wait to sit there scoffing it all and getting to bed before 10pm. Smile

The last time I was bothered with NYE was in 1992 and some bugger burned a hole in my donkey jacket. The incident still smarts!
