There'll be no new threads or comments from me as I'm not happy to be treated as a viral commodity. (apart from the odd update from the picket line of Like button protest threads).

Ok to do this properly we'd better run through the checklist. Firstly, do you have a burning bin?

Callisto · 16/12/2011 08:18

I'm with you. Fucking facebook - it is impossible to get away from it.

MardyStropAboutLikeButton · 16/12/2011 08:20

I have got the crayons out to make a placard.

And will get a Brew going to warm our hands in the cold morning air.

Yay! Christmas hysteria on MN! Now I feel festive Xmas Grin

WifiNappies · 16/12/2011 08:24

Do you have fingerless gloves on?

MardyStropAboutLikeButton · 16/12/2011 08:24

Sorry. Phone acting up.

And yet, here you are posting, so hardly a strike, is it?

MardyStropAboutLikeButton · 16/12/2011 08:27

I was going to join the Christmas movies thread. But now you will not have the pleasure of knowing my fav festive films.

I am on the picket line, SanTee. There's no point having a strike if nobody knows about it. That would just be lurking.

Ruby. There's a long thread in site stuff about it.

[shouts "scab" at you] I don't know what it means but I know people call each other it in strikes.

BebeBelge · 16/12/2011 08:30

Throwing in my chocolate tuppence worth... really dislike the 'like' button but have often thought it would be nice to have a 'I really like your post' button similar to the FB 'like' but of course only visible to MNers in that particular thread.

So, in the meantime, happy to join the protest. What do we not want? Like button! When do we not want it? etc. etc.

Xmas challenge: anyone got a good protest song to the tune of a festive number?? Do they know we all really really hate Fb at all?? Obviously I'm crap at this and totally tuneless Xmas Grin

MelanieLane · 16/12/2011 08:31

We could make a virtual picket line. Basically, every 5 seconds start a thread called FIGHT THE LIKE. So that all the active convos are that.

Starts with a little spiel about the like button and finishes with a suggestion about what to do to actively protest.

randommoment · 16/12/2011 08:38

I really don't want my posts to appear on FB. I like MN just the way it is thank you very much. Actually I would like a Like button, but only within MN, IYSWIM. Are you listening up there at the Towers, chaps?

And it's over and out (until I can resist the call no longer, anyway...)

LineRunnerCrouchingReindeer · 16/12/2011 08:42

I've only just seen this.

I'm in.

Fight the like.

Fuck off to Facebook.

How can you "like" a whole thread anyway? People are going to be putting across different views, aren't they? Confused

Trills · 16/12/2011 08:53

YABU because you have not asked an "Am I Being Unreasonable?" question.

HTH

StupidLikeButton · 16/12/2011 08:54

I have my burning bin and my fist will remain raised...but I am lurking to hear what MNHQ have to say for themselves.
