I really don't know.
Blush
Surely the gusset is there for a bit of moisture leakage?
Or a sanitary towel for periods?
Or a pad for urine leakage?
My DM was useless at this sort of thing.
So, please explain.

I have only started using them since having a coil fitted and getting an infection. I'm hoping things settle down soon as I hate them with a passion!

McPhee · 14/11/2011 23:16

For lining the travel potty....no way I'm paying a tenner for the same thing Wink

Thruaglassdarkly · 14/11/2011 23:20

OP, are you sure you're not a bloke perving on a load of unsuspecting wimmin talking about lady gardens? [hmmm]

TuftytheBetrayer · 14/11/2011 23:21

Mine are for DD and DS to stick all over the living room window to amuse any passing stranger before I notice them hours later. Waste of money if you ask me.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 14/11/2011 23:22

As scarlettsmummy said above, I use them for, ahem, pregnancy juice Grin

somedayma · 14/11/2011 23:22

they're for when you have a busy day that starts in the morning and you know you'll be getting a good shag straight after work with no time to change your knickers and don't want your man pulling off your undies and thinking "that's a v crusty gusset". Idk if any men would actually think this but I'd rather not give them the chance to

blueshoes · 14/11/2011 23:23

candidaness?

BertieBotts · 14/11/2011 23:29

Does not everyone get the same level of discharge then? I've always had to use them between periods. TMI - some days I have been known to leak through not only knickers but jeans as well, which is irritating and potentially embarrassing. Has been worse since restarting periods after DS for some reason.

Ohh YY and post sex issues if you don't use condoms Blush

tethersend · 14/11/2011 23:30

I thought 'candidaness' was very good Grin only just outdone by 'soundproofing' Grin Grin

Like you OP, I had always thought they were superfluous.

Have we had the MNer who changes her knickers three times a day on yet? Fascinating.

AlwaysWondering · 14/11/2011 23:35

But, but, but..
Surely after sex, you just turn over and go to sleep?
Don't tell me the LesserSpottedMorningSexer is not actually a myth? Shock

OP posts:
BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 14/11/2011 23:37

Eww, no, that would lead to a whole night of leakage surely (or is my DH particularly spermy?!)
You need to clean up, AND you need a pantyliner in case of further leakage! Or it might go through your knickers and onto your sheets! Shock

Knickers in bed? After sex?

I am going to learn a lot about humanity on this thread, I can tell.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 14/11/2011 23:42

Oh no, knickers in bed was frowned upon on the how many times do you change thread wasnt it!
:(

BertieBotts · 14/11/2011 23:43

Yes sex in bed = leakage all night. Although you don't notice when asleep. Not bothered about sheets, we still have a mattress protector on from when DS was tiny. Should probably transfer it to his bed now, but he's been known to crawl into ours with a leaking nappy (yuck). After bedtime sex I tend to just put a cloth between my legs.

Plus you can have sex in other places and at other times! When there are small children in your bed (with leaking nappies!) you end up getting creative!

tethersend · 14/11/2011 23:43

I won't ostracise you.

My standards are extremely low, though Wink

AlwaysWondering · 14/11/2011 23:44

Nice face cat64. Obviously I understand the 2 words - I just didn't understand the usage. Is it ok that I ask others for help in something I'm not sure about? Hmm
Nope, not knickers in bed.
Spermy sex towel.

DumplingBuns · 14/11/2011 23:47

I use them for periods. I have very light periods. Grin

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 14/11/2011 23:47

I didnt used to wear knickers in bed all the time, it only started when cosleeping with DS and for some reason hasnt stopped now hes in his own bed Grin

McPhee · 14/11/2011 23:49

Me and my ex had a spermy sex towel Blush

SirBoobAlot · 14/11/2011 23:53

Some of you obviously have much more faith in your pelvic floors than I do...

Stupify64 · 15/11/2011 00:02

I am curious. Do you have to launder ( there's a word that my Grandmama would've loved) the spermy sex towel every time?

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 15/11/2011 00:03

Surely you do...?

Stupify64 · 15/11/2011 00:07

My DM insisted that we needed to put terry nappies on our hotlist of baby-buys; have only really been used by kids as hand-towels. Am now seeing another possible use for them except for current severe sperm drought.

MrsMojoRisin · 15/11/2011 00:09

I use them for spotting at the tail end of period.
