Trying to be quick as need to do something quick but no idea what.

Next door neighbour is currently screaming at her daughter, can hear throught the walls. I mean SCREAMING.

Things such as:

I hate you, your going into a home
Get the fuck up now before I break your legs
I thought your brother was thick but your worse

Really nasty and violent threats.

What the hell do I do?

No idea if she is being violent towards the child, can't hear crying / bangs etc. just this screaming. Social services office is now closed.

Is this a matter for the police or am I over-reacting?

That poor child, how could her mother say such awfull things to her.

That's chilling. The little girl must be terrified. Well done for being pro-active.

BrokenBananaTantrum · 27/10/2011 20:19

Well done for ringing op. Hope they can get some help.

HowlingWereWolfBitch · 27/10/2011 20:22

Ditto here Mutt.

Well done OP, I wish there were more people like you in the world.

Kayzr · 27/10/2011 20:27

Well done for ringing. I hope everything turns out ok for the little girl.

Putrifyno · 27/10/2011 20:29

If neighbour called 999 then someone should turn up soon surely?

TheOriginalFAB · 27/10/2011 20:30

You need to tell whoever comes what the neighbour has told you has happened and stop posting about it on facebook!

you need to read the OPs posts again originalFAB IIUIC she is NOT posting about it on FB! after contacting the police she discovered through CHATTING with a neighbour on FB that the neighbour had also reported it.

Fisharefriendsnotfood · 27/10/2011 20:48

Any Sign? Can't believe 999 take this long to get to threatened child!

smackapacca · 27/10/2011 20:50

Hopefully something is happening as it's been about 40 mins since OP's last post.

Bloodymary · 27/10/2011 20:50

OMIGOD, have just come onto this thread, well done you OP.
Really hope it all turns out well!

WhoWhoWhoWho · 27/10/2011 20:52

How awful. You did the right thing, I would be tempted to dial 999 too actually and say you are so anxious about this little girl and believe she may be in immediate danger. Sad

microserf · 27/10/2011 20:52

i hope someone gets there to help that little girl soon. well done for calling OP, you did the right thing. Sad

SacreLao · 27/10/2011 20:53

OriginalFab Am not posting on Facebook, it's PRIVATE chat with another neighbour who heard what was going on.

I have called social services again and explained what the other neighbour heard, they are not allowed to tell me the course of action which is understandable but still no one has been out!

The other neighbour called 999 and was told it would be passed to the appropriate team, they also did not say they would be coming out.

Surely they should check the little girl tonight?

If she has been hurt they need to make sure she is ok.

smackapacca · 27/10/2011 20:55

Could a few of you go round to check on her?

SacreLao · 27/10/2011 20:55

bugger No I didn't ask them to keep it annoymous, didn't even occur to me!

To be honest I doubt they will hand over my name anyway, or do they?

OP posts:
CheeseandGherkins · 27/10/2011 20:56

If it was still going on or I couldn't hear the child I'd go round there now tbh. Not worth risking anything happening, obviously calling police also.

SacreLao · 27/10/2011 20:57

smackapacca I doubt I can knock on the door and ask to see the child, plus i'm then putting myself in the frame for the one who made the call and I have to live next door to this woman.

I may ring 999 myself and see what is going on, or would that not be allowed seeing as it has all stopped now?

I really hope someone checks on this little one.

OP posts:
CheeseandGherkins · 27/10/2011 20:58

You could knock and ask if everything's ok and offer her a cup of tea and a chat? Might help to diffuse the situation.

buttonmoon78 · 27/10/2011 20:58

I don't give a stuff if it's not allowed! Just ring them again. Don't give up on her now.

WitchesBroomForMyChin · 27/10/2011 20:59

They'll probably just say they were informed by a neighbour but not say which one I assume. Well done for doing the right thing OP. Really hope someone goes out soon, very worried about that little girl.

SacreLao · 27/10/2011 20:59

cheese If was still going on then I would have gone round by now but all is quiet now, I imagine they are in bed to be honest as I know mum goes to bed early, often see all lights off at 8pm etc.

Anyone know the 999 / social services protocals?

Would this be classed as a situation to check tonight or will they log it and check tomorrow?
