I've had no interest in this story until I read this. He's issued legal proceedings against Imogen, what a shit. Surely this madness has to be stopped now. His name is all over twitter, it's essentially in the public domain now. Can you sue individual twitter members anyway?

tallulahxhunny · 21/05/2011 08:02

why are you angry hes not suing you is he?

NormanTebbit · 21/05/2011 08:02

He's well and truly spat the dummy, hasn't he. What a dick.

SeymoreButts · 21/05/2011 08:03

Actually he probably will be after this post...

YANBU

Its ridiculous.

I think everyone has a right to a private life but he is the one whos broken his marriage vows. He really should have thought about the repercussions before he did that.

What exactly is the point of trying to go after people that posted on Twitter?

Scootergrrrl · 21/05/2011 08:06

If he'd just held his hands up and admitted what he'd done, 90 per cent of the people who now know about his affair would never have bothered about it. It's also hilarious that loads of people on Twitter have changed their avatars..... (completely unrelated comment Grin)

I still don't get why his name is to be so protected while that of Imogen's is in the public domain. This whole thing is so mysogynistic and shows us women haven't moved on since the awful gagging of Flora Keys when Cecil Parkinson didn't want the world to know how shabbily he was treating his disabled bastard . (For those who don't know CP issued a gagging order preventing any info about his own child into the public domain as he didn't want to pay maintenance. Sarah keys was doing what any mother in a similar position would do - fighting for the resources to raise a child with such profound disablities she couldn't do it alone.)

I do feel sorry for the footballers families, & hate adultery, however the footballer knows the risks to his family life when he plays away (if the other women is a Mum, her kids are not protected in the same way!). Either BOTH names from an adulterous affair should be kept out of the public eye or both should be made public. As it stands women (including innocents like Jemima Khan) are being hung out to dry while men retain some kind of Victorian Control. It's so wrong and is the western version of the Saudi Rules on women in public.

Together with the fees for child maintenance from the CSA, cuts to CB and CTC for working mothers, Ken Clarkes oudious rape comments and you get the impression there is a concerted effort to set back women's (and therefore children's) rights 100 years right now.

No you aren't being unreasonable - the great and the good need to focus on far more important things going on in this country right now than protecting prats who can't keep their dicks in their trousers. The court time alone could be used for far more productive stuff.

SeymoreButts · 21/05/2011 08:16

He's turning into a pantomime villain.

OP posts:
boohoohoo · 21/05/2011 08:16

He is the biggest knob in knobland, jeezs the whole country knows who he is, why doesn't he just go and crawl back under his rock. All he's doing is further the spotlight on himself (even tho he is he who must not be named, we all know). Christ his poor wife and kids, he comes across as someone is trying to deflect all blame for his roving penis and crying about protecting his privacy!! Hope to god mrs he who must not be named has his bags packed, and ready to throw them out the window (on his big knobhead!).

SeymoreButts · 21/05/2011 08:20

bochead You've hit the nail on the head, this story on top of KC's comments this week leave a depressing taste of "women as second class citizens" in the mouth.

OP posts:
NormanTebbit · 21/05/2011 08:26

Yes these injunctions are odious. I feel angry when I think about it. And who cares anyway? Why are judges wasting time making orders protecting the privacy of one rich non- entity who's had affair with another non-entity.

We should name him en masse - but mumsnet would delete the thread ( and I wouldn't blamethem.)

Longtalljosie · 21/05/2011 08:30

Please don't name him everyone. The only thing that will actually be achieved is Mumsnet may get sued as well. Suing Mumsnet would be a much easier proposition than suing Twitter.

NormanTebbit · 21/05/2011 08:37

So everyone knows who it is and yet we can't name him. It's such bullshit, isn't it.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 21/05/2011 08:40

As someone said here last night: You fucked another woman. Own it you worm.

I'm afraid I can't give credit to the poster because I can't remember their name, but that made me howl.

SardineQueen · 21/05/2011 08:42

What is he taking legal action against imogen for? Because his name must at some point have come from her?

So if she told a close friend and her friend told 2 people and etc etc, this comes back to legal action against her?

If he wins this would mean that women were barred from ever talking about any relationships they are having Confused

Does anyone know what his action against her is for?

Bumfuzzle · 21/05/2011 08:43

Even I know who you're on about as a result of all the publicity about this gagging order and the stupid way he's behaved.

And I couldn't give a flying fuck about footballers.

And if it had been splashed all over the papers, I would have thought "Bastard" and "his poor bloody wife" and then gone on to read actual news about actual world events.

As would most people.

But because he's done this, it is being more talked about by more people than it ever would have been if he'd just taken it on the chin.

It's his wife I feel sorry for. Everyone knows all about it and they're talking about it more because he's trying to stop them from saying his name. He's not spared her one ounce of humilliation.

QuackQuackSqueak · 21/05/2011 08:43

I don't know who it is! How do I find out? Never used twitter before.

SardineQueen · 21/05/2011 08:44

He really is a total penis, isn't he, this bloke. He's lashing out cos he got caught with his pants down, the poor baby, and it's SNOFFAR.

Wanker.

WalterFlipschicks · 21/05/2011 08:46

Quackquack me neither... Would we be shocked? Please will someone pm me?

Bumfuzzle · 21/05/2011 08:47

The problem is that some of these footballers think they're gods.

I mean, they kick a bit of leather round a field and they think they're gods. [boggle]

QuackQuackSqueak · 21/05/2011 08:47

Ok just googled it. What a twat! I always used to like him as well.
