to think I've ordered wrong colour pram

I know this is not wildly exciting but we ordered the stokke today & I was a bit underwhelmed by the colours. I have ordered the purple because it's a little different but after speaking to mum who said 'purple!! How disgusting!'
I didn't like the red,dh said black navy or purple as the lighter colours would look grubby quickly.
I'ts just such a huge whack of money to not be sure, any opinions?

Just go with what you and your DH want.

There'll always be someone who doesn't like your taste..that's life.

Shakirasma · 03/05/2011 18:02

One of the other parents whose baby goes to by sons childminder has the purple one.

I love it. Very smart

Bearcrumble · 03/05/2011 18:05

The purple one is lovely. Your mum is being a typical annoying mum.

5GoMadOnAZ650 · 03/05/2011 18:05

Ooh I love the purple one, I think it's the best colour in the range.

LaWeaselIsOupaLaDouffe · 03/05/2011 18:05

Purple is a great baby/kids colour.

BaronessBomburst · 03/05/2011 18:05

One of my neighbours has a purple pram. I don't know what make it is but I noticed it because it's so nice. I think you mum is being rather rude and dull, to be honest!

Thanks! I wasn't so much worried about my mum,she isn't known for tact lol.
I had my heart set on iCandy in sweet pea (turquoise) but liked the height of the stokke, also the foam handle on icandy does get some negative feedback as it gets damaged quickly.
Like the pram, just was having nerves I suppose about the colour.

Purple is my fav colour! Go with the purple! x

Flisspaps · 03/05/2011 18:17

Tell your mother it's ok, she won't have to push it Wink

You'll be fighting her off once DC is here.

Besides, it's got fuck all to do with her as to what colour/make/style pram/cot/bedding/etc you get.

GwendolineMaryLacey · 03/05/2011 18:18

Hate the pram but purple is a cool colour :)

icooksocks · 03/05/2011 18:21

I love the Stokke, I had the khaki one for a bit (pramoholic). I think the new green is beautiful but the purple is gorgeous Grin

frakyouveryverymuch · 03/05/2011 18:30

I wanted a purple pram but they were put of stock. Go for it!

forwantofabetter1 · 03/05/2011 18:33

Nothing wrong with purple.
But hate Stokkes look like Highchairs on wheels very odd!

WhiteBumOfTheMountain · 03/05/2011 18:37

Purpl is better than black and navy which are a bit yawn...red shows the dirt. You did right!

Your Mum souns like mine!

YANBU choosing purple.

But £600 for a pram? Shock

kellykateneedsaholiday · 03/05/2011 19:02

My sons Quinny pram was almost that shade of purple. I loved it.

gkys · 03/05/2011 19:08

ooohh i love prams/ pushchairs bit of an addict really, sad but true Grin £600? ouch, try jolly tots on line too, got my red cossatto pram/ pushchair buddi with car seat for £150

Icelollycraving · 03/05/2011 19:12

I wanted something cheerful in colour, the stokke is a different looking pram I grant you but I liked the fact it's so high, away from exhaust fumes, dogs (seen a few ferocious looking ones sniffing prams that freaked me out!) & less likely to get whacked with someones shopping etc & I quite like the fact the baby is near me to talk to.

Love purple can't stand the pram!

I saw one with a fake fur hood and hand warmer recently which has to be the oddest pram I have ever seen!

Beamur · 03/05/2011 19:18

My pushchair was purple.

annsmum · 03/05/2011 19:18

I have the purple stokke and I love it. I am always being told how nice it is. I'm sure you will receive only positive comments
when pushing it. Your mum will probably change her mind when she sees it. If not, she has no taste!
