to think I've ordered wrong colour pram

I know this is not wildly exciting but we ordered the stokke today & I was a bit underwhelmed by the colours. I have ordered the purple because it's a little different but after speaking to mum who said 'purple!! How disgusting!'
I didn't like the red,dh said black navy or purple as the lighter colours would look grubby quickly.
I'ts just such a huge whack of money to not be sure, any opinions?

I have the purple stokke and I love it. I am always being told how nice it is. I'm sure you will receive only positive comments
when pushing it. Your mum will probably change her mind when she sees it. If not, she has no taste!

TethersEnd · 03/05/2011 19:21

Are they the ones that look like office chairs?

Icelollycraving · 03/05/2011 21:35

Well I guess they are different to a traditional silver cross!

lol get used to it.people opine about everything
sure it is nice,so ignore her

HellNoSayItAintSo · 03/05/2011 21:45

Its a pram. What difference does it make what colour it is? Confused

TethersEnd · 03/05/2011 21:49

To be fair, I had a traditional Silver cross and everyone took the piss Grin

troisgarcons · 03/05/2011 21:51

Dear God on this holy green earth ... be grateful you aren't in a 3rd world country and having the offspring in a sling whilst you week paddy fields for thruppence a day.

FannyNil · 03/05/2011 21:51

My children all travelled in a grey pram. They don't seem to have suffered in any way at all.

Icelollycraving · 03/05/2011 22:02

Well clearly,I'm extremely grateful to not live in a third world country etc etc blah blah.
It was a momentary mini panic, didn't realise it could only be worthy aibu this evening!

I am loving the purple one. Purple is the best colour, great choice!

Changebagsandgladrags · 03/05/2011 22:11

I saw a woman on the bus with a purple icandy today. I did momentarily wonder if she'd notice if I switched them when she wasn't looking.

Bohica · 03/05/2011 22:13

Oh dear God, it's pram talk. Wtf has the 3rd world got to do with it!

Alambil · 03/05/2011 22:14

I've seen the purple one - it is divine; deep mulberry rather than luminous

Icelollycraving · 03/05/2011 22:17

Well thanks everyone :) it seems purple is the one then....just as well just said to dh shall I change the order & he said no,they were ordering it as we left as we want it asap so that's it,ordered.
Changebags -I'm sure she would have given you a head start but depends on who had the quieter baby :)

DS2's pushchair is orangle and purple. I like purple Smile

Tommy · 03/05/2011 22:21

does it really matter?
it's a pram
Hmm

GwendolineMaryLacey · 03/05/2011 22:27

That's a result, it took nearly four hours before some eejit mentioned the third world... (which I believe is no longer an acceptable term btw...)

exoticfruits · 03/05/2011 22:31

I don't think the baby will care which colour!

SisterCarrie · 03/05/2011 22:35

In TOWIE-speak, am wel jel. If only I had seen a Stokke before I bought our Bugaboo. Every other fucker has one here now (and I don't mean SW18, am in a crap coastal town). But have yet to see a real life Stokke down here, so wish I had one - would love to have DS up higher to chat to.

How long do they last, as in how big a child would it take?

Pancakeflipper · 03/05/2011 22:38

Does the Stokke pram blow over in the wind more than other prams?

Icelollycraving · 03/05/2011 22:42

Well, they said about 3.5. We bought the buggy, carrycot, family fix etc so I'm hoping that's all we will need. Think dh will have a fit if I become a pram gatherer!
You can alter the height considerably.
Liked bugaboo first, then iCandy then chose today between iCandy & stokke today. It has an option to clunk it up stairs without folding it down which I think was the clincher for dh as we live in a flat.

Purple is gorgeous. I had navy and white when mine were little, loved it at the time but there are so many lovely colours around now. Enjoy.

Ishani · 03/05/2011 23:06

I have the Navy Stokke V3 because I needed it urgently and wish I'd had the purple one it's lovely, if you really don't like it you can buy replacement covers and sell the purple on ebay.

SisterCarrie · 03/05/2011 23:15

More jel by the min. I wouldn't be able to resist the fur-trimmed hood and glove things, personally. Will look amazing with the purple fabric.

keepingupwiththejoneses · 03/05/2011 23:32

YANBU buying a purple pram, YABU buying a stoke they are discusting looking things.
