to think I've ordered wrong colour pram

I know this is not wildly exciting but we ordered the stokke today & I was a bit underwhelmed by the colours. I have ordered the purple because it's a little different but after speaking to mum who said 'purple!! How disgusting!'
I didn't like the red,dh said black navy or purple as the lighter colours would look grubby quickly.
I'ts just such a huge whack of money to not be sure, any opinions?

Disgusting looking they may be in your opinion but every feature has been extensively researched and designed with the child's comfort and development in mind, it's function over beauty and the baby is the one that has to sit in it.

Sirzy · 04/05/2011 09:18

To be fair children have managed to be comfy in prams for years, I doubt any manufacturer things "Oohh that looks like the child will be uncomfy I will go with that"

seeker · 04/05/2011 09:18

What lovely uncomplicated lives some people have!

Honestly - the colour of your pram is not worth a moment's thought, far less worry or anxiety.

HappyAsIAm · 04/05/2011 10:07

Sounds fab. My DS (3 yo) absolutely loves purple. He would have been in seventh heaven at the thought of a purple pram.

I feel that I made a bad colour choice when I bought my pram - Bugaboo Cameleon. I bought a charcoal grey base and beige top part. I didn't know what sex the baby would be, so chose neutral colours. I wish I'd been more adventurous with the top part and chosen orange or red.

DELHI · 04/05/2011 10:42

I'm sure your baby will love it - now, go and get on with living, please Grin

Moulesfrites · 04/05/2011 10:47

I have a red stokke, it's fab, people do tend to love them or hate them, I just think people who dislike them lack imagination to appreciate the brilliant design. Go with the purple, your baby will love it!

notbothered · 04/05/2011 10:48

Thanks, thought this would have dropped off the page already lol. Thanks for all the feedback, for those of you who suggest I have a nice uncomplicated life etc...you have no idea frankly lol. It was just a momentary 'have I chosen right?' it's not mind blowing,I'm not that self obsessed (yet!) but thought I'd kind of ask opinions.
Too late to change my mind anyhow but I think of the colours on offer I'm happy so all good :)

Well yes I know that was exactly what Stokke thought, it says so in their literature.

chelstonmum · 04/05/2011 12:53

I think the purple is really nice, as is the matching highchair!

Quenelle · 04/05/2011 13:11

They did when they designed the Jane travel system I was daft enough to choose. DS is two and he still can't sit up in the pushchair because it's so deep.

I like purple.

GandTiceandaslice · 04/05/2011 13:12

Purple is stunning! Have no idea what a Stokke is though. Blush

scottishmummy · 04/05/2011 21:21

some humourless biscuit arses on this topic. really
all the competitive worthiness oh well some folk dont have a scratchy hessian sack to put the wean in.
Aye really?
and some folk have a lovely purple chariot that cost gdp of bolivia to do the walk of pride with.enjoy!

scottishmummy · 04/05/2011 21:32

purple stokke was curious to see it.lovely colour

Icelollycraving · 04/05/2011 22:15

Lol scottishmummy! Yes,sometimes it seems like a competition to be the most worth/bloody miserable!

scottishmummy · 04/05/2011 22:21

as long as you dont start chuntering about cloth bummed and baby wearing
that is really taking choice of product and faux worthiness too far

its a gorgeous colour

Ishani · 04/05/2011 22:23

I've always thought you spelt wain as wain, wouldn't you say ?

scottishmummy · 04/05/2011 22:27

no,i wouldnt say wean scottish usually w coast colloquialism for a child/baby. east coast is bairn

Tidey · 04/05/2011 22:29

I'm not fond of those mad modern looking, up in the air type pushchairs. The colour is the best thing about it though. I can't believe any pays that much for a pram. DD's was £38 off eBay.

scottishmummy · 04/05/2011 22:33

aye, someone going rock u and say they got pram for 68p
competitive pricing
aha so well the bling crew wantonly waste money, the eagle eyed and tight wadded will brag of buying cheap cheep cheep

kalo12 · 04/05/2011 22:36

i saw a purple stokke the other day for a boy and looked very trendy. I like it

sprinkles77 · 04/05/2011 22:38

FFS. OP is really happy with her purchase. If she's got the money to spend, enjoy spending it. Some people get off on a big saving, others on a splurge. The best bit about your pram (whatever the cost/ colour/ spec) is the bundle of joy inside!

WoodysHat · 04/05/2011 22:39

The Stokke is fab, I have it in navy :)

If you don't like the purple in the end (although I'm sure you will) extra fabric sets are £145 and you'd get mist if that back by selling yours on eBay - it's not like you'd have to buy a whole new pram. I'm quite tempted to buy a set of thenew spring green covers for mine actually Grin

You'll love it, the height is it's best feature IMO although you will get lots of Hmm looks from other people when out and about!
