I have ranted about this topic before, seethread so when I went to Tesco this morning and saw a big advert for a ginger flavoured drink with the slogan 'Ginger, always the best man - never the bridegroom', I saw red.

Anyway, I started ranting as soon as I saw it and gathered quite a crowd all agreeing with me while I was trying to persuade teenage DD to take a photo of the offending advert (can't work my own camera phone [bublush] ). At this point, red-haired DD rolled her eyes and said 'Mum, you are sooooo embarrassing' and cleared off to look at the toiletries. [bugrin]

Now I know it is supposed to be funny, and I know it is a reference to Prince Harry but AIBU?

PS the tesco manager just looked at me as if I was a nutter and more or less said 'calm down dear'. [bugrin]

Ha, I remembered how to get into the secret thread.
Am also a ginger and somewhat fed up of everyone else thinking it's ok to take the piss out of gingers.
It's boring, it's not ok and it allows bullies to continue their work in schools and other places.

I know there are people who think the best thing is to call their ginger DC all the names they can think of, to "desensitise" them - but that really really fucks me off because to me, all it means is that the DC get no respite from the constant piss-ripping. Not even at home, where people are supposed to care about their feelings.

And besides which, more people dye their hair red than any other colour, so it's obviously just plain envy!

So ner.

Although I am incandescent with rage that there is no ginger hair dye any more and it's all bloody mahogany and aubergine.

I agree with your comment above about hairdye tethers, I'd love to dye my hair a nice proper gingery shade (have green eyes and pale skin so think it would suit) but they're all purpley reds.
