I have ranted about this topic before, seethread so when I went to Tesco this morning and saw a big advert for a ginger flavoured drink with the slogan 'Ginger, always the best man - never the bridegroom', I saw red.

Anyway, I started ranting as soon as I saw it and gathered quite a crowd all agreeing with me while I was trying to persuade teenage DD to take a photo of the offending advert (can't work my own camera phone [bublush] ). At this point, red-haired DD rolled her eyes and said 'Mum, you are sooooo embarrassing' and cleared off to look at the toiletries. [bugrin]

Now I know it is supposed to be funny, and I know it is a reference to Prince Harry but AIBU?

PS the tesco manager just looked at me as if I was a nutter and more or less said 'calm down dear'. [bugrin]

Anything'll do!

Jellykat · 24/04/2011 21:01

Ha Haaaaa

Feels like i've stumbled across a well hidden campsite in the woods, and you're all sitting around the fire, getting pissed...

Just gonna nip off for a wee, then can i join proper ?

(Hope i don't get lost)...

Jbck · 24/04/2011 21:02

Only wanted to post cos I found the thread with no title & I'm ginger.

I didn't actually get it till you explained it was PH. Not very effective.

BeakerTheMuppetMuppet · 24/04/2011 21:03

make sure you bury it deep enough won't you? Grin

Jellykat · 24/04/2011 21:09

Thanks Muppet, was prepared to do 'shake and dry', but loo roll would be much appreciated.. Grin

WickedWitchSouthWest · 24/04/2011 21:16

oo blank thread! How exciting! I can bring cider and homemade lemon fondant cake to the party!

blueeyedmonster · 24/04/2011 21:19

Ginger wine? I never knew it even existed!

My friend dyes her hair ginger and it's lovely, i'm not brave nough and always go red red instead.

BeakerTheMuppetMuppet · 24/04/2011 21:22

whatever colour i dye my hair it usually ends up red, too tight or busy to keep the ritual going and the red tones take over

i used to henna it too, i loved the colour it gave my hair

I have a lovely ginger DS and I'm half pissed, can I join?

Valpollicella · 24/04/2011 21:25

Wine as an offering

I am going back to red VERY soon...can't wait

BeakerTheMuppetMuppet · 24/04/2011 21:27

sure you wouldn't prefer hair of the dog - ginger hair of course Grin

ChocolateEggyrolls · 24/04/2011 21:27

I like this secret thread!

Ds looks like he might be ginger

I spent years trying to be ginger.

And yet I still can't seem to get dh to stop taking the piss [buhmm] but then he has no chance of being ginger! I find it more insulting when I am called mouse tbh. Ginger at least is something that is nice to eat/drink etc etc and mouse is just a bloody rodent.

LunaticIsOnTheGrass · 24/04/2011 21:28

Ooh I'm in [bugrin]

I think I've got a bottle of ginger wine somewhere, can I join?

NorfolkNChanceOfAnEgg · 24/04/2011 21:28

Ohh is this thread for us red heads then?

I was born ginger but then it turned boring brown as I got older BUT my ds2 is ginger yay!

DartsRus · 24/04/2011 21:32

OOOOO I found the secret thread.

Not ginger now, but constantly dyed red when a teenager (apart from a brief flirtation with blue....Grin)

I can share some ginger wine, some home made damson vodka, and some homemade sloe gin. Oh, and some Biscuit that the dcs made yesterday

TethersEnd · 24/04/2011 21:32

I found a dead mouse on the living room floor today. I told DD the easter bunny had brought it.

I think she prefers Santa.

Honeydragon · 24/04/2011 21:35

Why is it a secret how to get on the thread? Confused

Apparently I am a "closet" ginger, as its not always noticeable Hmm

DartsRus · 24/04/2011 21:37

Sadly I think it may be the last batch, unless I can get a new source of damsons. We moved house, and at the old house, the neighbours along the back had a damson tree that overgrew our wall, and kept dropping those damsons, so in the end we collected them and used them or they would have been wasted. We could see loads of fruit trees in their garden, but never ever saw them collect the fruit in 17 years at that house!

smokinaces · 24/04/2011 21:41

someone has just done another "secret" thread unintentionally on style and beauty......

BeakerTheMuppetMuppet · 24/04/2011 21:42

i don't understand how threads become secret tho, the OP on this one was a real discussion yesterday Confused

Jellykat · 24/04/2011 21:44

I nipped back to the car,to pick up my Grolsch, bugger, fancy a Pimms .. Beggers can't be choosers..

Tethers Well doesn't that just illustrate the state of the economy! - The Easter bunny can't even afford Chocolate [bushock]

DartsRus If you were in Pembs, I've got 2 Damson trees, you'd be Welcome to ..
