How much do you drink a week?

In units? And do you space it out?

I drink about 20 -25 units a week but I do it in 2 doses really.

I'm predominantly a wine drinker.

I have 1 or 2 glasses wine a night (one at wine o clock , the other with dinner), and probably equiv of 5 glasses if I go out, which is once or twice a week. That said, I went out last night and just had 1 G&T and a beer.

I usually have 1/2 nights where i don't drink at all but i don't really plan them.

I know this is too much but I don't really care, which I know is also bad.

blinks · 16/04/2011 02:56

'professional' makes your stress sound very impressive SF...

blinks · 16/04/2011 02:56

i have irn bru in a wine glass. that's how classy i am.

AgentZigzag · 16/04/2011 02:57

I loathe laying in bed not able to sleep SF, especially if you've got things going round and round in your head.

Must be bad at work to be keeping you up?

SpringFollows · 16/04/2011 02:59

The units thing though- I mean, what... 1 unit of wine is smaller than the smallest wine glass you can find. So I drink 175 ml of wine and that is 2 units I think.

When I registered with my current GP, she asked me how many units i drank in a week, and I rather stupidly added it up accurately and said ' um, 35 I think' and she gave this massive intake of breath and said 'Cripes'. But that was really counting a half bottle shared and all that.

spiderslegs · 16/04/2011 02:59

Ahh ZigZag - I feel slightly better now.

I am providing a template of bad behaviour for others to avoid.

So, really, am proving a public service.

I have saved 34,999,994 people from public disgrace & penury.

Consequently, am almost a saint.

Will wait for my beatification from the Pope once I miraculously conjour a pair of sentient human beings from the DCs.

BF and now pg so on average 0.

I know I can one or two drinks, but I like to do it properly Grin

SpringFollows · 16/04/2011 03:23

Not impressive blinks I just meant different from 'personal' stress!

Thanks Agent. Just a commmon story right now- lots of redundancies at work, people leftover are pressured to take on more and more work.

Why are you all up?

SpringFollows · 16/04/2011 03:23

I keep losing my posts...

Not impressive blinks just different from 'personal' stress!

Just a common story right now- heaps of redundancies at work.

SpringFollows · 16/04/2011 03:26

Flip, my posts vanish and then reappear!

Maybe it is the computer telling me to go to bed!

spiderslegs · 16/04/2011 03:29

Spring, don't stay up worring, it's never worth it, the problems are there in the morning & you're knackered too..

Only stay up when happy.

Any hope on the job front?

AgentZigzag · 16/04/2011 03:34

Yeah, don't let the twats grind you down SF Smile

I wish you were for real garlic, it'd be good to have a genuine pisshead on the thread, but you're just making too much sense to be severely drunk Grin

blinks · 16/04/2011 03:35

i hear you SF... tis a shitter. am up because i work late shift and need a couple hours to destress (ironically) after spending an evening discussing people's bowel motions.

SpringFollows · 16/04/2011 03:39

Yeah, I should go to bed. I am one of the lucky ones, not likely to be made redundant, but my job has been redesigned to take on the work of two other colleagues as well as my regular work.

A glass of something might make me much happier! Grin

You are deffo providing a public service spiders! (also genuflects)

spiderslegs · 16/04/2011 03:40

You mean there isn't a genuine pisshead on the thread ZigZag ?

Quite like Garlic, reminds me of a priest I once knew.

SpringFollows · 16/04/2011 03:41

Bowel motion conversations? That sounds like Mumsnet too! ('Tis Friday, right?)

Oh no. Its Saturday already.

Groan. I may have to leave you all to it, Ladies. DS is due to wake in 2 hours!

Night all. Thanks for keeping me company.

:)

spiderslegs · 16/04/2011 03:48

Is there no Baby-Bio in the house Spring? Mixed with a little lemonade I always find it an acceptable (if not a little vigorous) alternative.

If not, sleep lady, & take solace in the fact that the colleagues were clearly less able than you.

spiderslegs · 16/04/2011 03:50

& Spring then surely DH will be waking in two hours to keep DS company.

Father-son time, 'tis terribly important don'tcha think?

SpringFollows · 16/04/2011 03:54

Good point spiders... see definitely a public service! And yes, a good reminder, Dh gets Ds up at the weekends usually and they watch Simpson re-runs. I had forgotten that with my head the way it is right now.

You deserve that beatification!

But will really head off now. Thanks again. Night all.

Thenonevent · 16/04/2011 09:36

None. I really don't like the taste or what it does. Wasn't always like this though mind Grin, I have had my moments.

Ginabraz · 16/04/2011 09:53

One or two glasses every other night. I like a glass of wine whilst making the DCs dinner and then another with my DH when we have dinner. Somedays I have more if I feel like it and on Fridays DH and will share a bottle or two.

dementedma · 16/04/2011 10:06

go to the relationships topics and read the threads entitled Brave Babes Battlebus - you might get a more accurate picture of how much people are drinking

Groovee · 16/04/2011 10:14

None, I'm on medication which told me it could enhance the feeling of how much you'd had to drink, but it keeps me awake ALL night. I miss going out and having a chillaxed drink but it's not worth the lack of sleep.
