my ex boyfriends brother used to call himself a 'nigger' and say 'yo nigger' to his brother. It was all in a friendly way and it felt fine. I wouldnt have used it towards them, though, tbh, because it wouldve been weird.
They were mixed british background.
I am not disablist, if someone shouted anything offensive to anyone with diabilities i would be fucking fuming. I have worked with people who have learning difficulties, i am not some ignorant idiot.
Look, I see what you are saying, all of you. But offensive words ARE BLOODY OFFENSIVE. They demonstrate passion and anger and frustration and ALSO hate/ discrimiation. It's to do with context as well.
Each word is judged alone- you cant really compare 'retard' with 'spaz' or 'cunt', it's not possible. They have different connotations and different uses.
Using all these words is casual sexism, racism, disabalism, etc etc. I accept that, but that's the case for m=MOST offensive words
But i stick to my guns that words which arent MEANT offensively shouldnt be taken offensively, even if it was a poor choice of word to use. A word is a word in a context. Context is as important as the word.
