What did you serve?

onlion · 04/04/2011 20:21

What was it?

thisisyesterday · 04/04/2011 20:22

well, it's rude to comment anyway, so on that point yanbu

that said, if i turned up and my child was being served turkey twizzlers and smiley faces i may have trouble biting my tongue

so... what was on the menu? Grin

LaurieFairyCake · 04/04/2011 20:22

Unless it was shit on a stick why were they complaining?

amidaiwish · 04/04/2011 20:23

??

marmaladetwatkins · 04/04/2011 20:23

YANBU even if you served up Greggs sausage roll dipped in chocolate. Rude woman should slag you off behind your back about it, not be so rude as to do it to your face. Grin Some people have all the front of Blackpool.

XSAPPHIREX · 04/04/2011 20:24

just normal kids food, the sort my kid eats every day of their lifes

something like potato waffles and hot doogs

OP posts:
squeakytoy · 04/04/2011 20:24

processed shite then Grin

babybythesea · 04/04/2011 20:25

I'm just so delighted that someone else has catered I don't care what she eats! It's one meal. I have taken her out, and she was given smiley faces and fish fingers. I figure, as I don't feed her those, as a one off it won't kill her. Would you like to feed my child please??! I hate cooking and I promise I won't complain.

onlion · 04/04/2011 20:25

Mine doesnt get fed that kind of thing but as a "one off" at a friend's house it would be fine and dandy. If it was a regular evening Id be worried.

LaurieFairyCake · 04/04/2011 20:26

Yabu to feed your kids that shit every day

Fine as party food but not everyday

MorticiaAddams · 04/04/2011 20:26

When mine were younger they always got that sort of food when friends came over - either fishfingers, chicken dippers, burgers, sausages and chips or similar.

If she's fussy about food then she should have asked you for a menu before agreeing to let her child come to your house. Wink

TragicallyHip · 04/04/2011 20:27

YANBU It was rude of them to complain

YABU to serve hot dogs and waffles everyday!

amidaiwish · 04/04/2011 20:27

well i wouldn't be impressed but i wouldn't mind, after all it is just one meal. then again a few carrots, corn on the cob etc wouldn't have gone amiss.
do her kids have packed lunch? do yours have hot dinners? that does make a difference.

(btw i have to watch my kids' diet and ensure they get fruit/veg as otherwise they get constipated)

musicalbum · 04/04/2011 20:27

okaaaaay, next...

thisisyesterday · 04/04/2011 20:27

is this a joke thread? cos i keep not "getting" jokes lately.

if it isn't... well, um, i agree with laurie actually

XSAPPHIREX · 04/04/2011 20:28

some people seem to think we should cook like jamie oliver.

its only food on a plate, its cheap and its easy, i don't earn a lot but still treat the kids to or 3 times A WEEK TO A takeaway or mcdonalds, greggs etc

but i cant afford to do that everyday and as i just said im not delila smith lol

OP posts:
onlion · 04/04/2011 20:28

I love delia

Skinit · 04/04/2011 20:29

2 out of 10.

Try harder.

musicalbum · 04/04/2011 20:29

hahahaha [snore]

onlion · 04/04/2011 20:30

And my husband pointed out tonight I was caressing the Jamie Oliver electric cook's mill in rather a suggestive way whilst eating my dinner.

spiderlight · 04/04/2011 20:31
Hmm
NettoSuperstar · 04/04/2011 20:32

I cook like Jamie Oliver, Jamie Oliver in his Ministry of food book.

I'm a lone parent, on benefits (Except I have no benefits, I'm trying to get them)
It's not expensive, it's just good food, which is quick and easy to make.

theresapotatoundermysink · 04/04/2011 20:32

Your poor kids. You only get them 3 takeaways a week? Must try harder sapphire.

LaurieFairyCake · 04/04/2011 20:32

2 out of 10 is generous

Stop pretending to be all faux-chav, it won't wash darling.
