Super generous people around, I would offer 1/10 and suggest that your posting style is very reminiscent of someone else claiming to be new.

What ungrateful RUDE & snooty toe rags they are Hmm

I cook better than Jamie Grin always serve DD balanced & extremely healthy food, she's not a fussy eater & has very adult tastes, so its easy to do that

When her friends visit I make food they as KIDS ALL LIKE - which will be a party type platter of things veggie hot dogs or pizza, with cupcakes a bit of fruit, crisps, & other such snacks that kids love - there will be healthy stuff hidden in there, but on the surface its junk

bar catering for allergies & faith Its not my job to see to it someone else Child gets the same as the eat at homeHmm & I would think any parent that dared to complain to have no manners at all & I would gladly tell them soHmm

YANBU to be P'd off - I would be fumingAngry

Ok, so the friend shouldn't have reacted that way YABNU in that regard, but you shouldn't be feeding processed cr*p to kids either. Occasionally it's fine (hey we all like a bit of junk from time to time!), but not all the time. Takeaways, mac d's, greggs etc are all far more expensive than proper food.

Fresh fruit and veg from a green grocer is cheaper than processed frozen food, just as quick and easy to prepare and tasty too. A whole chicken roasted lasts us 3 meals in one week (2 adults, DS is not weaned yet). OK, so we buy free range because it's more ethically acceptable, but a whole chicken doesn't cost a great deal and is far healthier than hot dogs.

Ok just seen the rest of the thread

occasional junk is fine - every day is NOT, you owe it to your kids to feed them better than that, yourself too for that matter :) - lots of recipes on the internet & you will take a great sese of pride in doing it yourself & save loads tooWink

& its also easy to hide good stuff in food that kids love

pizza for example costs next to nothing to make, is actually VERY easy & you can add broccolli/spinach/peppers etc etc to the passata & blitz in a blender to make the topping - kids will never know they are getting good veg & you can then top with, whatever else they will eat - even chicken if you are a meat eater - my DD likes prawns or tuna & then top with grated mozzeralla cheese - a full healthy meal that would fool any fussy eaterWink

Frozen food from Iceland is generally cheaper than fresh, made from scratch.

Though I think this thread is a wind up.

do you eat much pasta? instead of buying a sauce just put a tin of chopped toms, tom puree, mixed italian herbs and then chop an onion, 2 gar;lic cloves and then finel chop loads of other veg up really small and put it in. that way you and the children are eating loads of veg without kmowing. add a veg stock cube too and serve with pasta.
