well maybe you are surprised, but I ONLY went on MN last night and now computer buggered - same one as someone else mentioned, the critical disc error one. Damn, I am normally so good technically too.

Sorry, I didn't mean I don't believe you maxy just that I was surprised that had happened. I'm sorry your computer is buggered.

I got an alert from my Norton last night after being on MN for a high-risk attack being blocked. So glad I'm paranoid about antivirus and viruses, but then I should be - I work in IT...

What´s the point of having malware protection if you then click on "ignore"

Do people not believe it because it´s MN?

ours wasn't updated. am so angry with myself. Have had a shitty week and not been no the ball at all.

Now then - Hassledge - how did you get rid of it please?

It has attacked that badly that it is just pretty much running itself before DH can do anything at all, and he does know what he is doing.

NO no worries backward - I am surprised too, as is DH!! But I had only done one post on MN then it came up - which I stupidly stupidly looked at - got taken in as laptop had a few issues and |I thought it was that and it wasn't Blush so now he has spent his Birthday trying to sort it.

Doin't suppose anyone has any Dell back up discs?? gosh how utterly shameful of me Blush

Mine was doing it this morning but has stopped now, my dp says that sometimes spyware (think that what he said) start a virus (like start one on mumsnet) and then send that alert thing up which keeps flashing up until you go through all the message stuff and that at the end it asks you to buy virus protection. Think I said that all correctly but I'm rubbish at computers!

Hey I noticed this earlier - mailed hq and they are aware there was a problem, think it was a dodgy advert but are working on it now.
