I'm getting it on internet explorer.

I think this is a classic example for those who think blocking porn at source is a viable idea.

All it needs is for some muppet to report a genuine site and the rest of us are inconvenienced.

I'm getting it too (FF) and yesterday, a day after my Norton subscription had elapsed (I hadn't got my act together re renewing) I got a hideous bug/virus whatsit on my laptop - one of the ones telling me I had no hard-drive, trying to get me to de-frag, telling me there was no hope and then shutting my laptop down. I eventually got rid (and renewed Norton!), but I couldn't work out where it came from - had opened nothing dodgy at all. Basically Google, MN and Facebook all day.

So I don't think FF are wrong - there is something amiss.

Got it on Firefox and IE this morning. I am back on Firefox but have had to disable the 'block reported attack sites' for now.

If anyone doesn't know how to do that on Firefox, just click tools, then options, then the security tab on the new window, the second option down is 'block reported attack sites', just uncheck this box and MN should be fine. I would recommend rechecking the box after you've finished on MN though!

Same here too, Firefox, is very annoying, may have to shut laptop down and go and do housework.

Chrome is doing it too.

I got a malware/spyware warning last night using Chrome, but Norton stopped it. I'd only gone onto MN. Switched to Firefox and all was ok.

At work now using IE and not getting any warnings

Its getting on my nerves now

Report
theyoungvisiter · 22/12/2010 10:56

same here! I had to click "ignore this warning" to view any threads at all.

If I click "ignore" then I'm offered a button saying "this isn't an attack site" - maybe if we all click that, Firefox will take note?

So bizarre. Do you think someone at Firefox HQ strayed onto the breast and bottle topic on a bad day Grin

If you click it, it gives you some patronising wank helpful advice saying they're right and you're wrong. Useful...

It's not letting me through even if I click 'ignore this warning' anymore. Have had to turn the option of blocking reported sites off to be able to get through

Top of Firefox: Tools-> Options-> Security, uncheck 'block reported attack sites' will do it for now, just don't go anywhere dodgy in the meantime.

backwardpossom · 22/12/2010 12:31

Or if you're on a Mac, Firefox > Preferences > Security Tab > uncheck the block reported attack sites box.

The problem has been solved, but the warnings remain (until Google revisit and give it the all clear)."

It's still happening.

I'm not fucking up my dp's brand new iMac am I? He'll be mightily pissed off if I am. Confused

I've been using Safari on my iphone all this morning and it's fine on that.....
