I'm totally fed up of people moaning about feeling ill with colds. Thats life. Get on with it. (not directed at any mn'ers, just folk in general)

What makes you lot feel like this?

AIBU?

YABVU

I have a cold and I am miserable and I am moaning about it.

My head hurts, my throat hurts, my nose is running, I have gone through a whole box of tissues and now my nose is red raw from too much noseblowing.

The only thing that keeps me going is moaning to everyone else that I am miserable.

And mainlining Lemsip.

YA so NBU. I have people making their FB statuses about their colds - WTF?! Confused

Nobody gives a shiny one.

FreudianFoxSquishedByAPouffe · 30/11/2010 08:45

YABU, some people suffer worse than others. Whenever I get a cold it tends to turn into a chest infection so I feel perfectly justified in having wallowed in it last week. Although I didn't put it in my FB status, that'd be weird.

FanjoForTheMincePies · 30/11/2010 08:46

Mums DO 'get on with it' , who are we to begrudge 'em a little vent on here!

GypsyMoth · 30/11/2010 08:49

None of us are EVER I'll. It's rare if we are, and even then, it's over quickly. So YANBU!!!

I have a 2.8 year old who went to the doc at 4 m with brinchiolitis...... And that's it!!! Never been for anything else!

We are odd......BUT, one of the reasons for this, I think, is the heating is never on high/on long.

HumphreyCobbler · 30/11/2010 08:52

ahh IloveTIFFANY, we should just stop being ill! I KNEW I was doing something wrong Grin

I actually have the most inefficient central heating system in the world and I still get the occasional cold.

tethersjinglebellend · 30/11/2010 08:57

I don't have time to be ill, as I'm so important. The world will actually stop turning if I take time off.

RockinRobinBird · 30/11/2010 09:01

I've been, and still am, really ill, not just a cold. It was on my fb status. Everyone has left lovely comments and on here too as I've been whinging on here. Tough tits :)

FanjoForTheMincePies · 30/11/2010 09:01

i'm never 'I'll' either, sometimes 'ill' though!

sorry, couldn't resist!

I know we feel ill with colds etc. I'm not that harsh Wink
It just seems to me that the same people are the moaners.

I just like to moan about how unreasonable people are Grin

Buy some Echinacea and get on with it!! [devil]

Just get better soon and moan about something worth moaning about....

OP posts:
WhyIsThatThen · 30/11/2010 09:08

I repeat, I am not talking about any mn'ers. You are all allowed to be ill and moany....Smile

Its people in RL I am talking about.

OP posts:
MmeLindt · 30/11/2010 09:08

I don't get ill a lot but when I do I want to moan about it. Those who don't get ill should be thankful for their good luck and superiour immune systems and let us have a whinge.

ILoveTiffany
I don't think that the heating has anything to do with it. If it were so, then I would have constant colds as our house is always heated.

MmeLindt · 30/11/2010 09:09

Whyisthatthen
We are RL people too, you know.

Most of anyway. I suspect Riven is one of those hairy handed trucker that we are constantly being warned about.

WhyIsThatThen · 30/11/2010 09:11

Oh I know you are all real live people. I am talking about people I actually see in RL. You do have RL friends, don't you?

I am also being very light hearted....honest.

strawberrycake · 30/11/2010 09:14

I don't mind MY colds too much and don't mention them. DS' cold on the on the other is driving me mad with sleep deprivation. 5 weeks of coughing awake and I've had enough.

NerdyFace · 30/11/2010 09:15

You think a cold is bad?

Try Man Flu!!..Thats true suffering!! Wink

takes cover

LaWeaselMys · 30/11/2010 09:17

I used to moan a lot. I used to get sick a lot more than I do know though.

YANBU - I started annoying myself!

:o WhyIsThatThen

DH went through and slept in DS's bed last night cause I was snoring too much.

WhyIsThatThen · 30/11/2010 09:30

Wink Nice work Mme....I bet you slept well!!

Right I'm off to spend an hr at Pilates, and no doubt listening to a lot of people winge and moan and blow viral ridden air my way Shock

OP posts:
psychomum5 · 30/11/2010 09:30

but if we don;t moan about being ill, what else can we do??

get into BF/FF debates, or child parking, or WOHM versus SAHM.

THAT is a worse sin....Wink

loubeedoo · 30/11/2010 09:35

YANBU, I have 2 ds who constantly circulate colds around our family (ds2 was in nursery full time till sept, and school just as bad).
However, should you bemoan peoples for hangovers, YABVVVU

Drinkng on a school night - unacceptable.
Excuse - putting christmas tree up.

psychomum5 · 30/11/2010 09:40

oooh, hangovers, they might be self inflicted, but they do indeed deserve much sympathy.

I still either have mine from saturday, or am now ill on top.

and I have to forage in my cupboard now for the advents...
