Amazon are doing a 'Black Friday' (started today, finishes Fr - hence name) where each hour they flog summat off dirt cheap. I pressed BUY at 09:00:01 for Take That's new CD at £1 (for SiL) and have been "waiting in the queue" ever since...

I'm 37+3 and have been sleeping about 3 hours a night. AIBU to just go back to bed and sod the savings?!

Lulabel27, I have a feeling it's done by random draw. Thousands of people are clicking on the items and they are just randomly selecting the lucky few. Just guessing though.

We are on donkey driven almost dial-up speed and it would be faster sending a carrier pigeon.
It was nice for ideas though despite not getting anything.

When it says you're waiting in the queue does that mean you got the item?

No Claire. Usually you will get the item within a few seconds of clicking on it. If you're waiting longer than about 20 seconds, I'd say you've probably not been successful but that Amazon hasn't caught up to tell you that yet.

I clicked despite being logged in and was asked to relog in again so obviously by then item had gone ...Makes me wonder why seeing that 10 mins earlier I had been logged in and adding things to my basket in advance! Am not convinced by it all !

So do you stay on the main page and it comes up for you to add to basket, or do you click the item you want and wait til 9pm then add to basket??

Stay on the main page, wait until the countdown then it will appear to add to basket without you doing anything.

Everything is gone within seconds maryz. You literally have to click on it the moment it becomes available. DNephew missed out on the Lego, which I was not happy about! [anger]

I got Shameless btw, so it definitely was available. That's one Christmas present done for me. :)
