...to think that VB actually looks ugly in this pic?

Now I quite like Victoria Beckham. I don't think she's stunning to look at but I have always thought she was quite attractive if you ignore the bones poking through her skin.

But I have seen this picture this morning, and I actually think she looks ugly, almost piggish.

Thoughts?

I think she looks a hell of a lot better than the usual emaciated, pouting, hiding behind sunglasses pose that she usually adopts. At least she looks halfway normal there.

She does look shagged out though :o

sungirltan · 13/09/2010 09:52

she looks exhausted. which is a shamew because i like the dress/outfit.

calling someone else ugly doesn't make you prettier though

GetOrfMoiLand · 13/09/2010 09:56

Bless her, she looks utterly knackered, and ill.

Not ugly, though. Think that's a bit harsh.

I like VB. She has made the best of what she has (looks wise) - she is an attracive woman, if not a beauty.

I also think good on her with what she has achieved. I personally would love a VB dress. And considering she was mocked somewhat when she first ventured into fashion design, she has turned it around now to be a respected designer. Good on her. Who would have thought an ex spice girl could have a career turnaround. I mean, look at Geri Halliwell and Scary Spice in comparison.

I don't think she is too thin either. Being that size suits her.

chipshopchips · 13/09/2010 09:57

I think they just forgot to airbrush this one- she looks like a normal late 30s woman- not ugly, and not any more knackered than most women.

snugglejunkie · 13/09/2010 09:58

I'm sure she's sorry she hasn't conformed to everyone's high standards on this particular photo and will be issuing an apology soon Hmm

Bit mean tbh.

Adair · 13/09/2010 10:01

I agree. I also really don't get it. Have looked at the picture again and she looks lovely! Have we been so brainwashed by airbrushing that we have forgotten what 'normal' looks like?

Mingg · 13/09/2010 10:04

What a nice thread...

flowerybeanbag · 13/09/2010 10:08

'ugly'? 'piggish'? Good grief.

ZacharyQuack · 13/09/2010 10:08

It just looks like really harsh lighting. Leave the poor woman alone

(hopes Posh is reading this and will send me some of her lovely frocks)

traceybath · 13/09/2010 10:10

I like VB and think she makes the most of what she had as do most of us.

But what is Liz Jones on about - designer frocks cost a lot - ummm yes of course they do. She just sounds increasingly bitter and twisted.

Does it make you feel better about yourself to call someone else ugly?

YABU

Lizzylou · 13/09/2010 10:20

She just looks tired.
Recently I think she's been looking fab, more relaxed and happy.
I think that with the amount of insults and flak she gets it is amazing she even gets out of bed, never mind becoming a very good fashion designer. She is obviously made of stern stuff.

cornsilk909 · 13/09/2010 10:23

She does not look 'ugly' although the thread title is.

minxofmancunia · 13/09/2010 10:26

YABU to call her ugly, she just looks extremely tired, I do too!!

She always looks odd imo due to here head looking to big for her body which is down to the effects of self imposed starvation.

I've nothing against her, but I do find it worrying that someone who clearly has an eating disorder is held in such esteem as an icon. Stylish, maybe, fair enough (although very "styled" iyswim) but her body image is as the result of an illness. there's a name for that kind of excessively controlled eating and thought pattern and it's called an eating disorder. It's a shame for her.

SirBoobAlot · 13/09/2010 10:27

Think she looks better in that one than in the ones with bones sticking out all over the place and a pout the size of a melon.

kittywise · 13/09/2010 10:28

I can't stand the woman, nor do I like her looks. However, calling someone ugly is horribleSad so YABU

upahill · 13/09/2010 10:31

I think it is horrible to start a thread like this tbh.

MummyDayAndNightCare · 13/09/2010 10:35

Sorry all.

Using the word "Ugly" was a bad move Blush

Like I said in an earlier post I didn't mean it that I thought she was ugly (although I know that is how it came across) I was just trying to say that compared to how good I think she normally looks this was almost unrecognisable as her.

Badly worded though. Hands up Sad

oh well, no harm done really. she just looks like a normal knackered mum who has thought 'oh i really cannot be ARSED with going to work today'... Wink we've all been there...

Aitch · 13/09/2010 10:37

what's teh liz jones piece, anyway? her i am perfectly happy to slag off.

MummyDayAndNightCare · 13/09/2010 10:39
