I’m going to aim for no booze for 100 days which will take me to early December, would anyone like to join me?

This will be a massive challenge for me- I’ve been drinking a lot every day. I failed at dry Jan this year, and have had another couple of attempts which have gone south. I’m taking it very seriously this time and going to really do all the other things to try and make it work.

My drinking has slowly crept up over the last 5 years and I’m now really scaring myself and I feel so ashamed. I drink over a bottle of wine a day and keep a lot of it secret from my dp- I just feel totally disgusted with myself.

Anyway enough of the pity party- I’m hoping this will be a really positive experience and would love some company!

Hello all and welcome to newcomers. I’m celebrating day 50 today. Still feeling achy and like I might be coming down with something but I’m celebrating my win regardless… with a biscuit and a slimline tonic!

@CheeseNcrackerz 50 days is incredible! Well done.

day 24 successfully managed here. Even managed a post work run! Feeling really good today.

Hello everyone, I have read a few pages of 100 days, but I forget who has said what, so I am going to say general things. My hand was healing from the graze, but then I was doing planks at my fitness class, so that has put the healing back a bit. Anyway, re: alcohol …the first 72 hours were the hardest mentally to get through. I have been here before, but my habits have become more entrenched, and it was really difficult to have even 1 day off drinking. I did write a longer post, but half got deleted and I am tired now so goodnight. Sending strength

Hi everyone. Don’t know where the week has gone. Just checking in. How are you all doing. Today is day 28 for me.

last night was a hard one. The usual Friday night feeling of thinking I deserve a drink. Somehow I avoided drinking and I’m feeling good this morning lying in bed with my cup of tea.

Hope everyone’s ok

Hi all, I’ve done 21 dry days and feeling better for it. I’ve been swimming regularly which helps with defusing stress and have ginger cordial and soda in the fridge for that nice cold drink treat at the end of the day. I feel a bit more smiley generally as well. I hope you’re all doing okayX

Blastedusername · 22/09/2025 21:24

Hello 👋 Well done everyone for getting through the weekend. Exercise is a good replacement for alcohol. ✅ I did a long run today, but now my knees are hurting. 🤣 will have a rest tomorrow. Oh - I went to a party on Saturday and didn’t drink. So that is good.

Namewitheldagain · 26/09/2025 20:05

How is everyone doing?

day 34 here. I’m alone again tonight and so nearly caved. My boss bought me a bottle of wine to thank me for some extra stuff I did at work. It’s sitting in my car boot. I bought myself a bottle of alcohol free wine and it’s not that bad. The whole evening I’ve wrestled with getting the real wine out of the boot. So far so good.

Hope you’re all ok

Blastedusername · 27/09/2025 14:45

Hi Namewitheldagain,
Well done on not drinking the wine. My brain is telling me to drink tonight. 🙄 so annoying. I hope I don’t cave.

Namewitheldagain · 27/09/2025 15:48

Stay strong @Blastedusername think forward to tomorrow morning!

CheeseNcrackerz · 27/09/2025 17:53

Hello everyone. I’m at 61 days and also had the strongest urge yet to drink today. It’s a family weekend away for us and I can’t stop thinking about a glass of wine when I’m sitting in front of the campfire tonight. Thankfully the town shop closed early and I can’t be bothered driving 40 minutes round trip to go to the next closest shop so I’ll stay dry this evening at least.

it sounds like everyone is doing pretty well. Stay strong x

Namewitheldagain · 27/09/2025 18:13

@CheeseNcrackerz sometimes being miles from the shop is good news! I have two bottles of wine in the house and the one my boss gave me in the boot of the car. Part of me wants to pour them away but the two in the house are super fancy and were wedding presents (I got married recently) so not really mine alone to pour away.

amazingly I just ran 10k. Usually on a weekend alone I’d have cracked open the wine at lunchtime but here I am out running at tea time!
