Hi there ! I hope this is the right place to post, I drink too much wine ! I want to drink only in the week and then have a glass or two over the weekend (if I fancy it). I have a baby and a toddler so I really need the energy . Just looking for some support and if anyone wants to join me?
We can support eachother, my problem is , I look forward to it and that thought helps get me through the day for once I finally get them to bed. I love them so much and want to be around for a long long time, drinking everyday just isn't acceptable. I havnt admitted this before so please be kind.
Who wants to join?

@Sexnotgender I’ll look out for it in my weekly trips to aldi!

Sexnotgender · 11/02/2022 16:54

Looking forward to it.

No more drinking in the week!

Made it to friday! Glass of red in hand ....and eating the kids left overs. Happy friday everyone, well done!

Blondefancy · 11/02/2022 18:33

Happy Friday!!

PamelaDoov · 11/02/2022 19:57

Happy Friday all, I’m on a girls night out 🍷

Enjoy!!

I had a medium/large glass of my rose, having one double gin (Tanqueray Sevilla- yum) and that’s me.
I never drink loads. Just too many nights.

I’ve been watching peppa pig all day, I deserve a drink!

Well done all. I am going to try and keep a tally. My aim is Monday-Thursday alcohol free. So a target of 8 for the two weeks and I achieved 6. Not bad but can do better.

Well done. That’s not bad going. I’m doing Monday-Thursday too, though I might switch my Sunday for Monday this week as it’s Valentine’s Day.

4 alcohol free days a week is a good balance I think.

Lemonweightloss · 12/02/2022 10:17

@SergeiL, that's great. Aim for 7 next ! @Sexnotgender, yeah it's good to have a few days off. I'm on day 6 and no plans to drink til a week today. I think I can do it. I like to plan but I'm also aware it's one day at a time!

TripleTipplePipple · 12/02/2022 11:24

I felt very sad this morning after wine last night. I might see next week if I can hold off fri night and only drink Sat night instead. So I get one morning a week where I wake up feeling good and then dont have to rush off to work.

PamelaDoov · 12/02/2022 11:43

@TripleTipplePipple it’s positive that you’ve acknowledged that it doesn’t make you feel good

Definitely. Recognising this is really important I think.

Lemonweightloss · 12/02/2022 12:36

@TripleTipplePipple, I think that sounds like a good idea.
Try it.

TripleTipplePipple · 12/02/2022 20:34

It really does make me feel crap. I'm still nearly a whole bottle down this evening though. This is why I feel like my drinking habits are slipping into problematic rather than being just 'a bit much'. Going to try and give it a miss altogether next weekend as half term week will be busy and I need to enter it refreshed

@Dollface20 I dont know, I am a bit of a thread killer.

Did you drink much over the weekend? I always have a bit of a slump on a Monday, wishing I hadn't drunk quite so much but still wanting another drink....

SergeiL · 15/02/2022 18:29

Yeah Mondays are hard if you have drunk on a Sunday. We shared a bottle last night for Valentines and I fear half term might mess up my efforts but I am still hoping to make some long term changes.

AHealthierMe · 21/02/2022 10:34

I saw this thread and thought I would join but then realised nobody has posted in over a week. I hope everyone is OK. I'm cutting down for two reasons which are health and to lose a bit of weight.

I'm going to look for a book as I've not read in a while.

SergeiL · 22/02/2022 11:49

I will be back next week. But am definitely still focussed. Got a few challenges over the next few days so being kind to myself but back on the wagon next week.

AHealthierMe · 22/02/2022 12:15

OK, I have a busy week too.

I have been doing this since dry January. It's going well. I hardly get graviings anymore and won't necessarily drink at the weekends.

In my case the saviour was alcohol free Corona beer which tasted good with a slice of lime. That was a must in the beginning but now I am too lazy to go to Tesco get some more. Other alcohol free beers are ok now and I can get them delivered from sainsburies. I really like feeling sober after a pint of AF.
