Just that really .
I'm really going to have a good go at this and I'm scared .
The thought of 30 days AF terrifies me and that's why I know I need to do it.
Trying to balance a v stress job/ 12- 14 hours a day/long commute/ children and a a fabulous relationship which I'm currently putting pressure on with my drinking .
Anyone want to hand hold or do this with me pls would be great ?

Yes I've just signed up to it. Thank you

Humphriescushion · 17/10/2021 15:05

My drinking has crept up again, so think I am in. I have done it before and it got easier as it went on but hard at the the begining so great to have some support.

threecupsofteaminimum · 19/10/2021 22:24

Yes please. I just joined up. I could really use some support.

threecupsofteaminimum · 19/10/2021 22:25

I'm starting tomorrow. I didn't drink today actually but this past week has been disastrous levels of wine so I think tomorrow is the first day of not feeling like utter crap.

TicketyBoo11 · 20/10/2021 01:17

I’m in. Just bought the book. Time for change….

TicketyBoo11 · 20/10/2021 01:18

Are we signing up somewhere..?

VelvetB · 20/10/2021 07:06

Hi everyone, I'd love to join you. I'm on day 3 today and ready to give this a proper go. I'm also reading the accidental soberista which is really helping

IJustLovePirates · 21/10/2021 10:48

I’ll join in too. I live with a highly functioning alcoholic and find myself drinking habitually. It’s difficult to have alcohol free nights in an alcohol fuelled environment. I downloaded the Alcohol Experiment months ago, so.... here goes:)

Rupertpenrysmistress · 25/10/2021 16:58

Hi yes I will join you on 1st November. Need to reset and would be great to have a month off. I have had a month off before and I felt amazing.

Muttly · 25/10/2021 17:02

I drink twice weekly typically (weekend) 1-2 notes of red but I’m not sure I can do 30 days. I’m not sure what that says about me 😱😱 I’m in starting 1st Nov

Rupertpenrysmistress · 25/10/2021 17:14

Mutly it's easier than you think. Just one day at a time no more.

Amdone123 · 30/10/2021 08:29

I've already done it and you can't do it twice but I'll do it via this thread definitely. I had a good October - 26 af days so I'd like to beat that in November.

PromisesMeanNothingSue · 30/10/2021 09:20

I downloaded her book yesterday, and after seeing this thread I just signed up to the website. I think I’m in… that feels scary, though!

Muttly · 30/10/2021 14:19

I started from when I wrote on this thread. The book is excellent and so far so good. This is y first weekend without alcohol in a while probably 9 years since I was pregnant. 😱😱

Amdone123 · 30/10/2021 14:49

@PromisesMeanNothingSue, it is scary but you're having a go and that's all you can do. One day at a time is the best way !
@Muttly, you can do it !

SnoopyMcLoopy · 30/10/2021 14:54

I've just signed up. I had a month off booze last November and 7 weeks at the beginning of 2021 but outside of that it's been too frequent and too much.

TicketyBoo11 · 30/10/2021 14:55

I am on day 11. 1 day alone and then day 10 on TAE app. I do have the book but the daily video inspiration videos are really good. I heartily recommend it. Download the App and get started..😊

TicketyBoo11 · 30/10/2021 14:56

There a folks on the TAE app who are redoing it or going back to day 1.

confusedlots · 31/10/2021 22:34

I've signed up! I'm really not sure I can do a month off alcohol and that really worries me as I know my drinking has been getting out of control. There was a small glass of wine left in the last bottle in the house and I drank it earlier (I know I should probably just have thrown in out but I felt like having one last one). There's now no wine left in the house so all I need to do is to stop myself buying any, wish me luck!

Swarskid2184 · 01/11/2021 00:03

I am definitely in. My drinking is out of control- at least half a bottle of wine a night and more at weekends. Not done more than one day AF in years…

Amdone123 · 01/11/2021 07:23

Morning all ! Well the 1st it is and off we go. My plan today is housework, walk the dog, eat properly and drink 2 litres of sparkling water.

IJustLovePirates · 01/11/2021 09:00

I’m in Australia so am off to bed with my bottle of water and a book having survived day 1 :)

Muttly · 01/11/2021 09:04

I’m really enjoying so far. 1 week down for me. I had a few queries on not drinking from friends at the weekend but dry November is a real thing here in Ireland so I will probably be easily able to get along without others asking questions from now.

It was definitely a good thing for me to do.

SarahDippity · 01/11/2021 09:07

I’m on day 10, so have avoided alcohol for two weekends - they’re my weak spot. I’m easily tempted and the only way is for me to have no wine in the house AT ALL. I’ve previously done 15 months, but when I lapse, I can go through a bottle a night. The worst for me is when people give me wine as a gift.

easterdaffsx · 01/11/2021 22:59

Wow I've been offline for a while and didn't realise so many people had responded that's fabulous .
Day one for me then.
I've bought Annie's book / read and listened to Day 1 on the App and even managed a bit of journaling .
Also listening to the free podcasts on my way to work most mornings .
I am really anxious as I've not not had a drink for a long as I can remember .
Tonight was really kind though ... spent longer with my dd than I have done in too long . Felt more present and drank Chai tea which was quite nice !
I'm nervous about the next few days but so glad I can do this with you all .
Take care all amd hope you've had a good one .
