My god Fish, that’s the kind of thing that happens in terrible dreams. I’m so glad I don’t have a property for drunken nakedness. I had a male friend who did when we were young. It wasn’t a night out unless we’d all seen his arse.

Are we all on half term now? Frouby hows DS now?

Longest what’s the weather like where you are? I’m thinking about what to pack. Obviously I’ll take my cossie and water wings for the tryers Balearic meet-up...

Waterandlemonjuice · 20/10/2019 22:42

Oh poor ds Frouby, hope a duvet day helps him.

Omg fish, I have never done anything as bad as that, thank goodness!

I have had some wine this evening but a lot less than a bottle so I’m pleased with that.

Waterandlemonjuice · 20/10/2019 22:43

And well done on AF dion, doesn’t matter why, you did it!

Fishflame · 21/10/2019 02:55

I know - I just can't imagine how the poor woman felt...

The fear is awful... I've had it so many times.

I don't get argumentative, but I get very flirty and behave inappropriately.

Frouby - hope your little lad feels better soon...

Fishflame · 21/10/2019 03:01

The most bizarre "fear" story was told to me by someone who once worked with the royal family.

He attended a party at Balmoral - a BBQ, I think.

Well, a guest of the royal family got very drunk and put his arm around the Queen (!!!) and started slurring about how marvellous she is etc...

This little breach of protocol insured he was never invited back...

Fishflame · 21/10/2019 03:01

Apparently, he was mortified the following day.

Dionysa · 21/10/2019 08:28

Thanks, Water

😂, Fish. At least none of us has done that!!!

My Fear normally consists of 'OMG, what did I say to X/Y/Z on the phone last night????? How drunk did I sound????'

Fishflame · 21/10/2019 09:59

Years ago, I worked for a theatrical agency.

One of our clients had a drink problem.

Every Friday afternoon, after he had been "celebrating" the end of the week, he would ring me up and slur about how he wasn't being paid enough etc

I was actually embarrassed for him. I should have reported him, but my boss had already spoken to him about his drinking... obviously, that had no effect on him.

He was lovely when sober, horrible when drunk.

He never ever apologised or even mentioned it - maybe he couldn't remember?

Alcohol is such a powerful drug.

Frouby · 21/10/2019 13:05

Morning all

Have done some daft stuff while pissed when I was younger. Daft rather than mortifying luckily. Me and my mate once stripped to knickers and bra and danced on a podium in a club. Sang on karaoke on a table. Mate got on stage and stripped.

Nothing recently though thank fook.

Halfway through blitzing my house. Just going to mop floors then deep clean the kitchen and kitchen cupboards 🙈. The amount of crap we accumulate is ridiculous. Sooooooo much junk.

Its a bit shit at the moment to be honest nc4, though not too cold. Bring a mac! And your cossie, natch. I have finally brokem my half way point in my channel swimming challenge but had to swum some of it in the rain, and lightning might be a barrier to doing as much as I'd like.

Nice day anyway though. Had nice lunch under umbrellas, them went exploring neolothic necropolis thing. Dd1 whinged so much on the way, but then actually loved it and even apologised for whinging. They were both hyper in the supermarket, whivh was a drag, but went to nrd easily enough.

I don't think I've ever done anything too embarrassing while drunk, but perhaps get a bit loud, argumentative and possibly even slurry.. It is more my worry that ill be obviously drunk way before anyone else. I tend to duck out of work things early to be safe. I used to work in one of those law firms though, can just imagine it, poor woman.

NC4Now · 21/10/2019 23:33

I’ve decked it a few times, but I can do that sober. It’s way more embarrassing drunk though.

I’m not too bad at the moment - I’ve been working quite hard at the gym so my hips are fairly stable although I’ve noticed my ankles aren’t great lately. I’m glad flats are having their day.

user764329056 · 21/10/2019 23:40

This reminds me of a card I have, “in alcohol’s defence, I‘be done some pretty stupid things sober”

user764329056 · 21/10/2019 23:41

“I’ve” not “I’be”

Fishflame · 22/10/2019 01:58

I'm actually surprised the drunken, stripping HR boss wasn't fired... it was a nasty firm, full of pompous male partners (very few women were promoted to partner) and very trigger happy when it came to sacking people.

I've done awful things whilst drunk... fallen over often, had to be carried home, passed out in the middle of a pavement, even taken my clothes off in a busy bar whilst passed out. I've flirted inappropriately many times...

One thing I've never, ever done whilst drunk is vomit...

I always get gruesome hangovers.

I was like death on Friday morning. I was still drunk when I woke up and felt so grim...

NC4Now · 22/10/2019 09:28

I’m not a puker either Fish. I sometimes wish I was. XH was and it made him a much more moderate drinker, because he knew if he overdid it he’d be sick.
I’ve had a few ‘end of days’ hangovers, though thankfully not recently. I think that may be progress...

Frouby · 22/10/2019 18:02

Afternoon all

Been to dds parents evening and she is doing so well, spoke of very highly, shes motivated and tries very hard and is on target for 7s to 9s in everything so very chuffed with that. English and Science which she struggled in last year she's smashing apparently achieving high 7s and the odd 8 already, maths she is doing exceptionally well in too.

Went to Asda earlier on with a big slobber of pony feed in my ear so that was nice. Fed BabyPony, the chucked her a lightweight rug on try and keep her clean and dry and she was nuzzling my ear while I was fastening her straps and didn't realise I had pony feed splattered all round my ear until I got home. Realised before parents evening luckily 😁.

Not dry tonight cos it's my birthday today. Having a few beers and domino's for tea so all good. Got some lovely presents as well. A new joules bag from the dcs, some pjs from dh, riding gloves and a hat silk from dcousin plus booze, chocolates, candles etc from other people. Feel positively spoilt 🥰.

Also BabyPony looks ridiculous in her new rug, her fieldmates ran off when I put her back down. She's a highland cowpony.

Happy birthday Frouby!!’ 🎂🍻
Lol at highland cow pony. I was just wondering whether my cattens will wear their Christmas jumpers this year. I’m going to have to try.
Day 3 today with barely a backward glance. Very tired though. Hoping body combat will cure me, not kill me, but we’ll see...

Dionysa · 22/10/2019 19:13

Have managed to injure my arm so struggling to type (will mend itself) - but happy birthday Frouby!!!! 🎉🎂🥂

Can't imagine Day 3, NC4 - Day 1 would be miraculous ATM. I hate school holidays. Glad hol is going well, Longest.

Dionysa · 22/10/2019 19:15

NC4Now · 22/10/2019 20:13

MadameForest · 22/10/2019 20:33

Flying by, too much work, too much half term, too much Brexit confusion, too many house guests and too much info on a family member I didn't know existed to post, but I'm reading.
So Happy Birthday Frouby 🍰🍻🥂🎂🍾** glad you ate finally being spoilt rotten you deserve it!
Dion hope your arm gets better soon

longestlurkerever · 22/10/2019 20:56

Happy birthday Frouby! And well done Frouby dd, fab news. Nc4 day 3 is fab. I have not been doing well on holiday, though swimming challenge is going well

Mme i am intrigued... Is this to do with crazy cousin. Agree re Brexit confusion, keep checking in to try to work it out. I think i am pro deal at this point as anything else feels too risky but obviously i am the only one.

Dh's ME is pretty bad and girls are pretty squabbly but overall holiday is good i think. Went to a beautiful beach this morning before weather turned and now watching an amazing lightning storm from our covered balcony.

Waterandlemonjuice · 22/10/2019 22:00

Happy birthday Frouby 💐🥂💐🍰 pony looks lush!

Madame, oo err re new family member, tell us more when you want to

I’ve been drinking but feeling happy -ish i.e I feel happy but then have anxiety dreams so sleep terribly so hmm, not ideal. Hormonal this week so maybe that’s it.

Flossie44 · 22/10/2019 22:09

Hi. Went away for the weekend. Was great to get away.

Frouby - happy birthday!! 🍰. Sounds like you’ve had lovely presents and been looked after, as you should be. 💖

Madame - you ok lovely? Sounds a stressful time xx

Dion - oh no, what have you done to your arm?? Hope you recover soon.

Longest - sorry dh is struggling with his health. I hope however that you are getting a break and able to relax and feel supported. X

Flossie44 · 22/10/2019 22:12

NC4 - day 3?!!!!!! How?!!!!!!!!! Give me tips!! What have you decided to do about the weekend away??

Still not managing af for the last week. Tried to tonight. Poured myself some soda and lime which I love, however it tasted really salty for some reason, so I threw it away and poured a chilled glass of Sauvignon!! 🙈. So I tried to moderate. I had half a bottle. And in fact I threw away half a glass and made a cuppa!!

It’s dd2’s bday tomorrow. So proud of her. She’ll be 11!! Just can’t believe it. There have been times I never thought she’d make it. She’s my inspiration 💖💖
