I hesitate to put this on the board but would be interested in the views of anyone who watches this - it's tonight on BBC 1 at 9pm.

I hope it gives a balanced account. Then there is the Channel 4 programme on Wednesday T 10pm on Finding a Mum and Dad.

Flora

Thanks

Thank God they could save your son :)

One thing that did strike me was how quickly the children were removed when there was evidence of physical harm - compared to sometimes how long children are left in chaotic homes to suffer the more insidious effects of neglect. Neglect is potentially far more harmful to the developing brain and the child's future mental health, than much of the physical harm - although can be much harder to prove

Indeed it is difficult to prove psychological and emotional abuse, especially in children who are not able to elaborate and process emotions in the same way adult do. Unfortunately, people like Hemming and Joseph and the widespread victim-blaming attitude does not improve the situation. To be honest, it seems the situation is even going backwards.......

MadameDefarge · 14/01/2014 14:14

gosh wizard. So, do tell us how you help people who have had their children snatched by SS for no good reason?

Are you part of a parental advocacy group? You say people know who you are. Care to share? You say you have no problem with it, so I would be keen to know.

LokiIsMine · 14/01/2014 14:15

And I've said it again, I do wish they would recommend people go somewhere other than Ireland. Our children's services are stretched beyond all hope of recovery sad

In Italy they don't want them too. Carabinieri are tired of snatching Italian babies, let alone foreigners........

wizardpc · 14/01/2014 14:20

@madamedefarge - Im not hard to find. You show me yours and all that :)

I dont provide advice - I help with simple requests with a specific skill I have.

MadameDefarge · 14/01/2014 14:22

why are you not hard to find? where should I be looking? Why so coy?

I post anonymously as an individual with opinions, not under any professional banner or vested interest, so there would be no virtue in revealing my identity, and it would neither addto nor subtract from my contributions to this particular subject.

nennypops · 14/01/2014 14:25

wizardpc, you're the one who has no problem in revealing your real identity. The rest of us validly do have a problem, not least because we have seen what your friend JH does when he knows the identity of people who don't share his opinions. So, if you want to demonstrate that you are not someone who has ever been on MN before, do tell us who you are, and what your "specific skill" is.

LokiIsMine · 14/01/2014 14:30

Totally agree.

wizardpc

For obvious reasons (see previous posts), do you understand that revealing my name publicly would be like waiving my anonymity rights?
I hope so.

Instead you said you had no problems in revealing who you are, please do if you don't want...to be considered a troll.

I am not sure the UK system protects children... it simply protects the system itself.

A system that protects children would have spared no expense and found out the lack of Vitamin D / genetic disorders, etc.

DH is a scientist and always wonders how much of the prpgress made in labs actually filters down to general medics, etc. who then become 'expert' witnesses...

wizardpc · 14/01/2014 14:36

I am a web/social media consultant. I have no connection to any of the authorities or John Hemming. I do not bother or badger individuals apart from being (slightly) irritated at miscarriages of justice.

wizardpc · 14/01/2014 14:37

ha ha I am not Ian Joseph - goodness me

nennypops · 14/01/2014 14:38

So how come all these individuals come to you thrusting evidence of their child protection cases at you?

MadameDefarge · 14/01/2014 14:41

Glad you think its funny, wizard.

So, for the nth time, who are you?

I am a web/social media consultant.

So you are one of the guys who work for H. in his IT company. Good for you!

turnwest · 14/01/2014 14:45

Why is everyone attacking wizard, all he has done is raise some interesting points on forced adoptions. What a judgmental lot you all are, don't think I ll ever be posting o here if I need advice!

Why don't you all just calm down and accept we are all entitled to our own point of view. For what it's worth I entirely agree that in cases where it is proved that there is no abuse a forced adoption should definitely be reversed. The birth parents should have their rights restored should they be proven innocent. Why should anyone be allowed to keep
a child who is not their birth child if the birth parents are able to look after that child.

I have two children, I am their birth mother, and I love them dearly and if medical evidence suggested wrongly
that I had absused my children, when I had nt, then of course I would flee the country.

I d like to hope Jill that one day justice is done and yourittle girl is returned to you, but I fear that won't be the case.

nennypops · 14/01/2014 14:45

It's such a tedious pattern. Poster pops up using a very familiar posting style and making very familiar points, when asked to produce anything like facts or evidence becomes strangely evasive, stoutly denies having anything whatsoever to do with all the people who have done exactly the same previously. I wish they'd just put a bit of effort into making it more convincing occasionally.

MadameDefarge · 14/01/2014 14:47

turnwest, how do you know wizard is a he?

wizardpc · 14/01/2014 14:48

mainly because they trust me

LokiIsMine · 14/01/2014 14:48

A system that protects children would have spared no expense and found out the lack of Vitamin D / genetic disorders, etc.

Let's not talk about utopic scenarios though. You said it yourself 'spared no expense', well... are you aware that NHS, or anything connected to health, suffered huge cuts recently? I guess SS, LA and CAFCASS suffered the same fate?

I mean, I'm all in for 'perfect' systems yet I find it difficult to believe they exist.

This is the same everywhere, no more or less. Anyone saying differently is just unaware of how things work in any other country.
Trying not to go off topic, I'd say that going abroad doesn't solve the issue, if possible it gets worse.

turnwest, we'd be very happy to listen to wizard if, for instance, when he claims to have evidence he would actually produce it. Or if he would answer straight questions occasionally.

Suppose, instead of being your children's birth mother, you had adopted them as babies. And three or four years later, someone came to you and said sorry, we messed up, they're going back to their birth parents. Don't you think that, given that your children would love you in exactly the same way as they do now, and would be bonded to you in the same way as they are now, you might worry a bit about the effect of that on the children?

DrankSangriaInThePark · 14/01/2014 14:48

The lemmings are out in force as predicted today.

Shame there's no darn cliff when you need one.
